Another example of how Game Pass is the Netflix for games….
Some people would be happy with this sorta content. Others like myself would rather replay a better game than spend 20 minutes trying a Sniper Elite sequel.
I’d prefer something closer to the movie Logan.
I hope the UI is less cartoony than the PS3/360 game’s UI.
I didn’t love how floaty Spider-Man felt, and I wished they made swinging more difficult by removing their various “aids”. So I hope that Wolverine is also not too floaty…. Like, I do not want to have juggling combos.
I want Wolverine to feel more like GoT than DMC.
His knuckles were bloody in the trailer…
Spider-Man sold THE most units out of any Sony exclusive; they can afford to serve the same audience as GoT for a bit.
Play God of War 3, and then play God of War 2018; they are different games entirely.
By comparison, play Gears of War 2 vs 5. 5 clearly is built on the mechanics of 2. This was not the case for God of War 2018.
GoW 2018 is part of the franchise, but it is not a fifth sequel like Gears 5. They went back to the drawing board entirely with EVERYTHING, which was really my point of avoiding fifth sequels like Gears 5 and Halo 5.
You mean Amnesia, 10 years ago, right when RE7 development likely started….
It’s not. Bad AI ruins immersion every time.
Republic Commando was great.
I don’t count God of War 2018 as a fifth, and racing games will always have a ton of sequels, it’s their nature.
Bungie left 343 because they didn’t want to do Halo 4.
Would it kill M$ to develop some new IPs? How often does Sony do a fifth sequel?
Nah, Horizon isn’t a must have. Plenty of ppl don’t care about racers, even the best racers.
And Halo is considered old by kids nowadays.
They could continue to make better games?
I’m glad M$ agreed to pay so many dev salaries, it’s great for their job security and their work output, and the industry as a whole.
But it took M$ $500 million and a decade to make Halo Infinite. It wasn’t THAT much of a struggle for Sony to deliver any of their own system-seller AAA’s. We have no guarantees that they’re acquisitions will yield any more system-sellers any time soon.
If Sony ...
I don’t care what the sales figures are, I know where the trajectory in quality is going.
They are buying Activision at their lowest. They might not even be able to afford to make CoD exclusive.
I read it…. It’s not a disaster. The Last of Us multiplayer could make people forget about Call of Duty.
Or not. Sony has enough studios to still compete. I don’t want Game Pass, just the best games.
I love Halo Infinite, but I don’t feel like waist for one great game every 10 years from M$.
Let’s see if Stalker and Starfleet both launch this year.
Not Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Santa Monica, or Nintendo.
This is great that they are paying so many developer salaries, but we still need to wait until next December to really see the benefits of this investment.
If they can afford to, then why not?
Sony and Nintendo will be fine. M$ has the most geese/studios, by far, but how many of them lay golden eggs?
Enough people love Sony Studios as much as Nintendo. M$ has to prove a lot more with Game Pass before they convert the whole market.
I haven’t read it yet, but “disaster”?
Lol
Seems early, since we don’t get any XsX/S AAA exclusives for almost another year.
I’m not hating on the game, I just wish I could turn some stuff off.
For example, I know Insomniac has something that prevents you from ruining a swing by scraping the ground. The game will subtly lift you up so you sorta scrape the ground.
Key word “sorta”.
I’m glad they designed the game to maintain the fun and momentum of swinging, but I enjoy a challenge; so I’d personally like to wipeout every time I miscalculate a low-swing. ...
