thanks for some of the best games of my early adult life. RIP
and no one here complained when sony pushed for 70 because obviously "that was good for the gaming industry".
i would call it goalpost shifting but at this points those goalposts are just flying through the fucking sky
typical pr bullshit. The best games that get released don't get these kinda statements attached to them, but instead show it through gameplay. They're just creating a steeper hill to climb for themselves.
Did E33 claim it's gonna revolutionize the rpg genre? Did silksong claim it was creating it's own league in the metroidvania scene?
that is not the problem....the problem is that ps3 uses cell architecture which apparently is a pain to emulate
can notice here in the comments that everyone is 40+ years old, holy shit bunch of salty boomers.
Pretty much exactly when the old gen hated on rock n roll, get along with the time grandpas.
well if you wanna be a word nazi, reimagined would mean that it's just a thing in their head and that no one would be able to play it.
valve is not a gamedev first anymore and not many people seem to understand that. Valve is a storefront first and gamedev 2nd in it's current state. I agree with you for the most part though, they definitely could have done better when it comes to game development but the way it was phrased was ridiculous. It's always the people who don't care about x thing and complain about it the most while their own house is on fire and they don't even realize it.
I thi...
ahh the I don't care about x platform but the users of said platform should have the same opinions and values as me. Also they're releasing the steambox, deathloop, Half Life Alyx was fkn awesome and they don't wanna just make sequel after sequel and end up at counter strike XVI. Also there is enough unique experiences on there and you're free to be vocal to them as well.
Im glad that valve is different and not just carbon copy sony/ms and they're better...
Mesmer not being in S tier already signals this is completely wrong
and they're gaging that by making a level in a dead game?
how the tables have turned, went from making a movie about a game to making a game about a movie/show
ammunition for an imaginary plastic box wars for someone who is probably 40+ years old
for you the sales of a game decides if a game is good apparently and CoD sold a LOT or do sales only matter now that they're down?
so you're basically saying the 10 years before that it was basically peak gaming
there is nothing wrong with it indeed, just give it to a studio that loves doing remakes or something, not Sandfall. Cause however you wanna say it, remake or re-imagine, their creativity will be heavily limited.
Yes i understand that, but they aren't cdpr and for a new smaller indie studio for their 2nd game to take on 2 projects immediately is just a bad choice and doomed to fail.
yes lets have the team that just made arguably the game of the decade be on remake duty, no thanks.
mods literally solve all of that, thats why skyrim sold so well for god knows how many years. You can choose to add content, change the combat up completely, get a bunch of new spells, visually change whatever parts of the world you like you name it. Especially some of the overhauls I really enjoyed
well they've probably set this up for a bunch of years. I would be surprised if by the time 4 releases they wouldn't already be mostly done with 5 and done a bunch of the legwork for 6 if they manage to pull this of. I'm extremely skeptical and also think they can't even be close to as large and content rich as w3.
I think you underestimate some of the people here
Steambox is not a console, nor is it in the console space
