mario kart should be completely focused on casual players, the "pros" should be an afterthought and like in mk8, that game actually had a lot of things you could master to get faster, which casual players wouldn't pick up on.MK should be a party game first and anything else is a bonus. Same with smash, even though i like to tryhard in that game and would love for them to add more things to facilitate competitive play, I'm not oblivious to what the target audience is and what...

how dare you have a nuanced take, take a good look at yourself in the mirror!

Tarkov is already mainstream. it currently has 98757 players playing it right now. A bit over 1.9 million unique users over the last 30 days. If that's not mainstream then idk

90% on here automatically says a game, dev and publisher sucks if they don't make a single player game. It's honestly just so petty. It's really starting to become a bitter boomer fest over here, not your type of game? bad! Not singleplayer? Bad! everything is bad except if the game is specifically tailored to their taste. It's just an echochamber at this point.

you're dead wrong. in moba's you lose your whole loadout after every game, in dayz, tarkov and in roguelikes no one has an issue with it.. Sure it might not be your cup of tea, but stop acting like it doesn't work in any game. So many games have a mechanic that you need to start from scratch each death or new game and it works totally fine.

oh yeah not to mention fortnite, one of the most popular games on the planet, played by millions each day.

i played it since day1 or should I say night 1. Stayed up, put blankets over my monitor (totally not a fire hazard) so my parents couldn't see as easily that I was awake and was playing as soon as the servers opened. I never really got into gw2, I played it a bit at launch and a bit more when path of fire came out but for some reason it just never stuck with me. I think it was the overly focus on achievement hunting.

The new quests are apparently focused on doing missio...

it's very different from EQ, but it's my fav (pseudo) mmo. It's also not as time intensive as most of the other mmo's from that age (unless you wanna grind for all the cosmetics), lvl cap is 20 which you will reach by just playing the campaign or even quicker if you play one of the 2 newer campaigns. After that the main thing to chase is skills. armor and weapons with the best stats are relatively easy to get unless you want the fancy looking ones.

gonna pick this up at some point, the original was such a blast

@abstractel with that logic, consoles have held the industry back for a couple decades now. Took them 20 years to get an ssd and some decent memory.

414d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

yeah you can read how good a game is doing from a forum full of boomers, cmon man

414d ago 0 agree3 disagreeView comment

you can't do the same for consoles, there is no steamcharts equivelant for consoles because transparency is not a thing they do . Also that is just false, for example cs:go, dota and destiny aint surviving/dying because they had a bad or good first week. Also i have no idea who you're quoting.

his statement is just dumb, pc gaming is not relying on console gaming to survive and pc is actually doing very well currently.

and that isn't the case with ps5 pro? with normal ps5 you're now a 2nd class citizen with some serious compromises in framerate and settings.

most games since windows xp work fine and if its a title from 1990 i don't mind having the option of not having to buy it again and just run a virtual version of 1998 or something alike to play it, but most often there are way easier fixes. Also i can play multiplayer for games that have been shutdown by the publisher, because the pc community is awesome.

for steam at least, you could actually put in some work yourself and do research. You can see player numbers, peak player numbers of games but that would actually require you putting in effort so that's never gonna happen so we're stuck here with you talking out your ass

415d ago 1 agree5 disagreeView comment

unlike consoles, steam doesn't get a 5-6 year reset on their games, i know this is a shocking revelation. if part of the problem is only having to buy your games once, we sure are guilty
