Both Amazing games. Witcher III is the most densely filled open world game with variety. It was the first open world game I hate that and love that there is too much to do. I love the engaging side quests but I out level them (which I still go play).
Horizon is less engaging with its side quests, but I hunt for stuff all the time. The main quest lines so far are pretty cool (not finished).

I loved mass effect 1 and 2. Then 3 made my story pretty meh
The "naval combat" is the issue, not the traveling. The franchise has the same tired fighting mechanics. A boring present day story that serves almost no purpose anymore. But let's just focus on the non stealth mechanics because an assassin's main goal is to be a master helmsman of a skiff and not hiding.
They took a year off to shovel the same bs we've seen over and over.
I hope to god if they truly plan to revamp it thy focus on the stealth of it
