That's because it's a skating game and he's using the bail mode to do it, meaning his character is essentially a ragdoll.
Trust me, actual running in this game doesn't behave anything like that. He's mixing two gameplay mechanics in a unique way. Not to mention Black Box has needed to work on their off-board animations.
It's $30, but not for JUST a firmware update.
They'll set up your audio, video, accounts, etc for you. Yeah, it's steep. But the average Joe paying $300 for a PS3 probably doesn't think about throwing $30 on top of it so he doesn't have to read the manual. That's how life happens to be sometimes.
So because Sony releases patches that brick PS3s, Best Buy would want to get paid to make people think they broke their console and not Sony?

Guys. We all know it's a beta. We also know that that footage honest to self didn't look THAT over-the-top phenomenal. After seeing what came out during LBP's lifetime these videos are just the slightest bit lackluster. You can gush all you want. The realists out here will save their "hoorahs" for what's still to come.
