And then, you will get the PC elitists that will not even read the article and then come here and say:
a old ass GTX 680 will stomp all over the PS4!! PS4 is so weak!! its a laptop!! low end!!! high end pc's rule!!! no way the PS4 can match pc's from 2 years ago!!! ahhh!!!
making themselves look like fools because nobody has said that the $400 PS4 will outperform a PC with a $600 GPU lol
i would imagine the hardware designer of the console has a better grasp of the its capabilities than you or anyone else here does...
as for "using all the power" yes there will be games in year 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on that use "all the power" of the PS4 (and Xbone)...
but a console's power is a relative thing...its about how efficiently you use that power that matters...a terribly coded game will use all of the power and look like cra...
No it's NOT! lol...just because the number is higher does not mean its better specs...
10gb of DDR RAM is not "higher specs" than 2gb of DDR 3...
A 5ghz Pentium 4 is not higher specs than a 2.5ghz i7...
An 8core Jaguar based APU (like PS4 and Xbone) are NOT higher spec than a quad core i7...
Interesting that Sony would be called "novice" when it comes to software when it is Sony's first party SOFTWARE that is universally looked at as the best of the generation from a technical standpoint (Uncharted, TLoU, Killzone)
This guy is so threatened by the PS4 he comes running and posts the same stuff on every article...I know you have trouble reading...so I'm going to make this real clear...
NOBODY...did you get that?...NOBODY is saying that the PS4 is more powerful then high end rigs...
Lets try that again...NOBODY is saying the PS4 is more powerful than high end rigs...
HOWEVER...it's much more powerful than comparably priced hardware in the PC market...
BlackKnight...the thing is all this "latency hurts the CPU" talk is just talk...how many PC's have you seen running a unified pool of GDDR5?...yup, none...we can speculate on how latency might be an issue...but Cerny is one of the few that has actually experienced the performance...so his word has to be given more credibility then any arm chair engineers on N4G that think they are all knowing...
@exterminator...no they are DDR3
This has been known since February lol
Im Sorry....
Choice #1 Newegg.com
CPU: AMD Quad-Core A4-5000 Processor =/= 8-Core Jaguar...FAIL
RAM: 4gb DDR3 =/= 8gb of GDDR5...FAIL
GPU: Radeon 8330 =/= PS4 GPU
digging further...according to what i can find
8330: 500mhz
PS4: 800mhz
8330: 2 compute units
PS4: 18 compute units
8330: 128 shader cores
PS4: 1152 shader cores

whats "custom" about the PS4 is that it doesn't include any off the shelf parts...
- Can you buy an 8-core Jaguar CPU?...Nope...
- Can you buy the PS4's GPU?...Nope...
- Can you buy both of those put together in a single APU?...Nope...
- Can you buy a mobo designed for 8gb of unified GDDR5?...Nope...
- Can you buy 8gb of GDDR5 and run your whole system off it?...Nope...

do me a favor...
let me know when you build a complete box...case, mobo, 8GB GDDR5, a dedicated audio processor, an APU with an 8core CPU/GPU w/18 CUs, a secondary processor to handle background data, cooling system, 500GB HDD, 6x BD drive, input device, operating system, power supply, and uses as little power as the PS4...
and do it for less than $400...AND matches the performance of the PS4...
lets go i CHALLENGE you to build me a PC that t...
and you lose all credibility by saying "The PS4 had a GPU plopped on the board" because if you're going to have an intelligent conversation (something that you obviously struggle with) and try to put down the PS4...you should at least try to understand the hardware youre talking about...
what Cerny SAID is completely true...the PS4 hardware is more CUSTOMIZED than you see in ANY PC...
notice it doesn't say anything about more POWERFUL than PC's...Cerny is not going to sit there and say the PS4 GPU is more powerful than a Titan, but the PS4's GPU is not available off the shelf...nor is it just an off the shelf AMD GPU with additional RAM or overclock...
its heavily CUSTOMIZED lol...
some PC fanboys are the worst lo...

MS talked about how for every Xbone in a living room they were going to have the computational power of 3 in the cloud...Xbone(heads) ran with that (and MS surely didn't tell them otherwise) and have been saying things like the cloud is going to make the Xbone exponentially more powerful, or how it w...

I don't think anyone is saying the dev didn't say those things...the argument is that it was made in the context of current vs next gen...

No, its not possible at this point without a SERIOUS (think a year) delay...components will have begun manufacturing quite some time ago...Sony would have to eat all of that cost, plus R&D on new hardware, plus the backlash from saying its going to be delayed...
just no way...and this goes for the PS4 and Xbone
can we PLEASE get this article removed so that it stops fueling the fanboy fighting?...its already been proven multiple times that this article is crap and that the source is completely misquoted...
Kaz has already said this..not really news at all lol
