Sony wouldn’t have backed out of E3 2019 if PS5 was releasing next year. They’d use that event to promote their new hardware.
My guess is PS5 will release in 2020. Sony pulling out of E3 leads me to believe that. The next Xbox will probably release in 2021 since the 1X came out so recently.
