Was never a big Giant Bomb fan, but I loved their Persona 4 endurance run. Shame he died so young, even worse it was on his honeymoon.

If they drop the price to 300 (maybe even 270), advertise the f*ck out of it and hope that PS4/XB1 will be in limited quantities, they can be alright. Their lineup isn't the best, but they got some big first party games (Mario, Donkey Kong,
Pikmin) and despite not having much third party support they still got some big games as well (Sonic, Watch Dogs, Batman). They just need to do the top two things I mentioned, advertise and price drop. Nintendo, I hope you do this.

True, and as I noted I could be wrong, but never say never. People were saying the same thing about Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest and Shin Megami Tensei and look what happened. Companies go where the money is. But either way, I don't care what system is for, PS3, Vita, 3DS or even the Amiga. It'll be Persona, it'll be amazing.

I have a bold prediction. I may be wrong on this one, probably will be, but I have this feeling that Persona 5 will be for the Vita...AND 3DS. Reasoning is quite simple. Why do you think Atlus made Persona 3 and 4 on the PS2? Because it was cheaper to make. Atlus is not a big company so making games on cheaper platforms helps their bottom line. This is where the handhelds come in. Cheaper to develop, not to mention there's already a fanbase for Persona on the Vita thanks to Golden. As for...

"the same folks who claimed that healthy sales of the 3DS was a bad sign for Nintendo because it will delay their move into mobile sales for iOS"

I just... I mean... what!?

Saying one is "dominating" the other when both are selling poorly is not a good argument.

(And before both Sony and Nintendo fanboys disagree this post to hell, remember that sales =/= quality. I'm not saying either system is bad, but if you think one or the other is doing fine then you're delusional)

Knowing Nintendo i'm afraid his fears are real. Nintendo lately has been terrible at marketing. Hell I haven't even seen one ad for Game & Wario despite being the first big Wii U game in months. Same goes for Lego City. Unless it's Mario or Pokemon don't expect Nintendo to actually put effort to advertising it, sadly. And no posting pictures on Twitter is not advertising.

This is news? Japan has been losing interest in consoles for years now. There's a reason why for years developers have been jumping ship to DS, PSP, 3DS and Vita. Cheaper to make means better for their bottom line. Again, nothing ground breaking here. I'm sure the PS4 will do fine, but it won't set the world on fire like the PSP did or the 3DS is doing. And that's not knocking the PS4, that's just realizing that Japan prefers handhelds. End of story.

Chibi Robo on the Gamecube was one of my favorite games back then. Such an underrated gem. Park Patrol was...well i'll be nice and say it wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good too. Either way glad to see the series back in some capacity. And since it's just an eShop game, Western release is likely...but knowing Nintendo they always have a knack for surprising me, both good and bad.

Basically reason why i'm not getting a PS4 this year is that one I have enough game systems to support already and as a broke college student, really can't justify paying 400 dollars plus for a new system when I already am getting so many games for my current systems. And two is, well there's really nothing at the PS4 launch that's a killer app for me (keyword: for me). Next year when InFamous and Destiny drop, then i'll get a PS4.

See this is my point. Sony doesn't give you free games on PS+ because they care about you, they do it as incentive for you to pay 50 dollars a year for PS+. It helps their bottom line. You see? PROFIT! Sweet glorious profit! And in the end, why should we care. We get free games, so everyone wins. But don't act like Sony is doing this just for you. This was one problem I had with everyone's reaction to E3 this year. People acted like Sony just cured aids and cancer at the same time...

And...? This is pretty common place. Anyone who thinks these companies truly care about us are just in denial or are a fanboy. Kaz Harai isn't laid out on his bed waiting for me to text him back, wondering if i'm enjoying The Last of Us (I am, by the way). Iwata's not holding a emergency meeting because someone wants a Pokemon MMO or they're never supporting Nintendo again. And Gaben won't whisper sweet nothings into your ear saying he'll do "aaaaaaaaaanythinnnngg...

I was all ready to post another long paragraph about this topic. But now i'm more perplexed why Kotaku added "yo" at the end of the headline. Like seriously, why? Is this some unfunny joke going around on NeoGaf that gaming journalism is trying to shove down our throats (again). Did I miss a part in the investors meeting where Iwata ended the financial report with "yo". Seriously i'm really curious what drove this writer to add "yo" to the end. This is ba...

Now how will I check the news and forecast minus using my phone, tablet, computer, lap top, anything with wi-fi at this point, newspaper, tv or look out the window? Damnit Nintendo, you screwed with the hardcore gamers yet again.

Thank you! On here, NeoGaf and pretty much everywhere else i'm hearing people say that Sony or Nintendo should buy them. That would be awful. First off they would lost a certain amount of freedom when it comes to developing games, but also Atlus brings over A LOT of games from Japan that they themselves did not do. If Atlus were to be bought by any game company they would cease being a publisher and therefore we would lose out on so many Japanese games. Best case scenario is that another ...

Jesus people jump on the panic train pretty quick. Index has already said they're actively looking for a new sponsor for Atlus. There, that's it. No need to worry. It'll more than likely be a non gaming company, so we can stop with the "PLEASE SONY/NINTENDO SAVE PERSONA" rhetoric (which would of been worst case scenario, by the way). Atlus will continue to make games on all systems (except for Microsoft) and will continue to publish other games to North America (sorry Eu...

That would be awful. It would be awful if Sony bought them, it would be awful if Nintendo bought them, it would be awful if ANY game company bought them. First off they would lose some freedom, but most importantly, Atlus would no longer be a publisher. The good majority of games Atlus brings out over here they didn't do, they just got the publishing rights. So if any of these companies bought Atlus, say goodbye to games like Code of Princess, 3D Dot Game Heroes, King of Fighters, Shiren,...

To me games are more than just data on a disc. The artwork and everything else in the presentation is also important. I can go to my self, pull out a SNES or PS1 game and by simply looking at the case I can go back and remember my first time playing Chrono Trigger or Crash 2. Can't do that scrolling through my XMB. Add that to another reason why I prefer physical to digital.

4728d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'll be honest, I hate digital distribution so the further we are from an all digital console the better. If you go in knowing full and well that when you buy something from the PSN,XLBA or NN knowing full and well that you don't own the game, you're simply renting, and you're fine with it, then by all means go at it. For me it's a tough pill to swallow knowing that in a few years, once the PS3 and 360 servers go down, that all my digital games, dlc and patches will go wit...
