Basically at this point my stance is "rather see them stay third party, but a first party Atlus is better than no Atlus". And while I still say another holding firm like GunHo or SoftBank will more than likely pick them up. Nintendo does have (not literal) stock in Atlus, what with this crossover. If anything happens to jeopardize it, they'll come in.
I swear if anyone complains about this game getting and 8.8
Sega doesn't even have money to afford coffee. How are they suppose to buy out an entire company?
And as someone else said, would rather not have Sega buy them out. Still waiting on Yakuza 5...
Dude, they made one game. ONE game for current gen systems. It will be years until Atlus makes a next gen game. Hell they might not even do that. With Atlus' recent track record, they may just got handheld only. Don't blame them, fits their budget.
Like many people, I would rather Atlus stay a third party developer/publisher. Because I don't know if many people know this, but a lot of the games Atlus brings over weren't developed by them, they just got the publishing rights. Meaning if they were bought out buy another gaming company, say goodbye to a lot of great niche games no one wanted to bring over besides Atlus.
BUT... if it did happen, if Atlus was bought by Nintendo. I would get over it. I would rather ha...
Are we not forgetting Nintendo is funding and publishing Bayonetta 2? Are we not forgetting that in the Bayonetta 2 trailer we had a close up shot of her crotch and Bayonetta riding an enemy's spear like a stripper pole? But yeah Nintendo would totally censor Mara.
@Majiebeast
How's the crystal ball going for you?
As for Monster Hunter 4? Yeah, it looks about as good as the PSP games. And will play as good as the PSP games. So what's the problem here? Oh wait visuals...
More than likely another Japanese firm like SoftBank or GunHo online will buy Atlus out. Atlus, while profitable, is still too niche of a company for most game companies. In other words, sure Persona 5 will sell around 500-700k units, but for big companies like Square or whoever, that's not enough to justify paying millions to buy out the company. So like I said, a company like SoftBank or GunHo makes sense.
Oh and a little side not, to the people who are saying they eith...
*Nintendo doesn't like the mature, dark themes Atlus' games have.*
Then why is Nintendo having a deal right now promoting Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Fire Emblem Awakening together. Why are they collaborating with Atlus to make a crossover game together if Nintendo hates games with "mature" themes?
Listen, I don't think anyone believes the Wii U will be as successful as the PS4 or Xbox 180, at the very least it'll be Gamecube era (which is fine considering the Gamecube was awesome). And I don't think anyone expects Wii U to make a complete reversal of fortune like the 3DS did. But if you expect that with a 3D Mario, Donkey Kong, Pikmin and Sonic this year and Bayonetta, Smash and Mario Kart early next year that the Wii U won't be SOMEWHAT successful, then you truly are a...

It amuses me that people still think the Wii U is going to make Nintendo go third party. Firstly, the have enough money in the bank where the Wii U can be a failure and they'll still be fine (if their next console after that were a failure too, well then that may be a different story) but that's not factoring in that the 3DS is making a killing now.
As for the main topic, the Wii U could make a big surge this holiday if Ni...
Psst, anyone want to tell him Pikmin 3 was only on sale for two days so saying "X" game did better is a little inaccurate? No? Let him babble on like a talking head on NeoGaf? Okay, back to SMT4 then...
*Looks at the NeoGaf thread*
That website should be fucking firebomed. Jesus, way to take positive Wii U news and turn in to a "Wii U is doomed" thread.
Hmm, apparently if your console has games people want to play it sells well. What a novel concept...
I don't tend to watch UMVC3 competitive (the screen gets a bit too busy for me to keep up) but my god was this top 8 good. The grand finals almost gave me a heart attack.
*Phew*
Think I popped a few blood vessels. Thank you Nintendo. Although i'm afraid the damage might have already been done. But either way, really looking forward to the Stream. Hope the Smash community brings their A game like the KOF community did last year. Hype!
So why did Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Wii Fit U, Game & Wario and just about every other first party game got delayed.
Also, saying Wii U takes double the manpower to develop and then say it's easier than ever is a little inconsistent.
You're trying way too hard.
I'm so pissed at this, not just because I was really looking forward to the stream, but also because people donated 200,000 dollars to get this game to EVO because they want Smash to be recognized as a legit fighter. And then Nintendo pulls this shit and now we can't even watch it. And before someone says "well the stream costs money, Nintendo's just trying to protect their IP" the money for the stream is going to a COLLEGE FUND! I'm sorry, I've defended Nintendo...
No. Pikmin is not a system saver like Mario Kart or Smash Bros is. BUT, it is a nice start to what is hopefully the end of the Wii U drought.
