If you can’t afford $300 you aren’t going to be able to afford to stream games. Plus you have to remember, an iPhone can already play fortnite at 60 FPS... in a few years what device won’t be powerful enough to game on? Stop drinking the kool aid, this doesn’t make sense.
The only reason this makes any sense is because it gives publishers 100% control over their games, no piracy, no lending, no used games, and cheating would be super hard. There is no other reason to run games sever side, especially going forward.
I hope there are big fines for companies who try to get around it.
The switch is small potatoes for Nvidia, even their gaming division pales compared to their workstation products.
most people cant even tell the difference between 4k and 1080p on their current screens, most people have 50 inch or smaller tvs that they sit fairly far away from.
I guess you could, but i doubt we will see any 8k games since people are barely even sold on 4k. 1080p is still plenty for almost everyone since they dont have huge screens.

this is a good start, understanding pc settings helps. Especially when you can often choose a render resolution seperate from output resolution...
Most games have to be set hard enough that the ai actually does something challenging, otherwise of course its going to be boring. Who wants to play a game where you just walk in and shoot everything without needing to think about where you are or what the enemies are doing?

Upscale is something your screen or device does to make the picture fit the screen(it can be done well or poorly) render resolution is simply a configuration change that makes the game actually render at higher resolution. Added content isn’t unheard of for a port, heck we get that quite often when a game is ported to another platform like a ps4 game being ported to Xbox one for example.
