I have no idea what this author is complaining about. There were more new franchises developed this current generation than any previous generation before it. Congrats to Sony...I had one preordered but canceled when Watch_Dogs and DriveClub got pushed. I decided to wait out the inevitable teething issues every console has at launch, but I'll be there to purchase on 3/21/14 when the Infamous Second Son bundle is available. I will certainly miss Killzone and Resogun, but I've got a decent backlog of Ps3 and to a lesser extent 360 gaming to work through. As someone who bought (and enjoyed) both the ps3 and 360, I'm buying the PS4 first this gen, and will buy the xbone later on when the price drops. Naughty Dog undoubtedly has several tricks up their sleeve. I wonder what else they're working on and that Uncharted teaser trailer really has me curious on where they are taking that franchise next. Whatever and wherever that is, and whatever games they release for PS4, I will be there day one.
It's hard for me to fathom why Naughty Dog would reveal Uncharted if it weren't slated for a late 2014 release. Sony wasn't under any pressure to get them to reveal it early, people knew ND was working on something for PS4 and many suspected the next Uncharted. I don't believe ND would speak about the game if it were tentatively scheduled for release in spring or fall 2015. That's one and a half to two years from now!! Why bother when everybody knew you were working on...
Awesome news, and a total surprise at the pre-launch event. I really didn't expect to hear about Uncharted last night, that's for sure. Uncharted automatically goes to the top of my PS4 most wanted list, along with The Division, The Order:1886, Destiny, Watch_Dogs, The Witcher 3, MGSV, and Infamous Second Son. Greatness Awaits indeed.
Joe90, haven't you seen The Division, The Order:1886, Destiny, etc. etc?? Those games (and several others) are looking stellar and are brand new franchises. It's unrealistic to expect studios to completely abandon their cash cows. The next gen (now current gen with the ps4 launch) is giving us plenty of brand new triple A titles as well as marvelous new indie titles. I think you're being a bit ridiculous.
Whatever it is and whenever this game is set, I am confident it will be a stunningly spectacular spectacle available only on PS4. This game automatically goes to the top of my most wanted list, along with The Division, The Order:1886, Destiny, Watch_Dogs, Infamous Second Son, The Witcher 3, and MGSV.
I have faith in Naughty Dog to stun with whatever the new Uncharted turns out to be. How could it not? I'll be interested to see if it is indeed a prequel, and if you play as Francis Drake.
Man, Sony has really forced them into a corner. Consumers win. I hope their selection of free games improves, because to date it has been woeful compared to what Sony offers. One can only hope.

Sony is already investing in indies and allowing their first party devs freedom to create unique and compelling content. This game looks absolutely phenomenal. There are so many great next gen titles I'm looking forward to, but this is right at the top of the list. Until I see what Naughty Dog is working on, perhaps? I'm also REALLY looking forward to The Order:1886, Destiny, Infamous Second Son, MGSV, The Witcher 3, Watch_Dogs....I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but those games all look stellar.
