I'm highly interested in that lore bit about a conspirator causing the five dragonflights to be distracted about their duties and that even includes Deathwing. So that discards Deathwing as the cause of the Nightmare in the Emerald Dream. It is possibly the Old gods, specially with how Loken ended up siding with them.
Also that lore bit about the new possible Guardian of Tirisfal not been Human? Whoa? Garona's son anyone?
Really cool to hear the developers talk about the behind the scenes details of the development process. I am a bit shocked. Did they just hint Sargeras is alive too?
The Map Making software will have the Tauren marines shown in April's Fool day. Who knows what other surprises we may have access to. Even old SC units will be in the WorldEditor.
Considering that the Transformers film hit theathers around the time Starcraft 2 was in development, I guess the Thor was inspired after the film. The name Thor is a given. Chris Metzen likes Norse mythology, and he is dubbed The Thundergod Metzen.
Hah ! Less teasing, more pew pew. Gimme !!!
Damn, I really want to play beta. The screenshots are impressive. If they can achieve this much as standalone expansions, it is worth the wait.
This is a mind blowing discount. A hundred bucks !!! I so look forward to receiving this diorama. It will arrive to my home in a few days. I will review the product soon.
I will certainly love to explore these new map making triggers and tools. The modding community is gonna love this for total conversions and custom map campaigns.
Map Makers and modding community are going to be very happy
Who's gonna participate? I bet many people who aren't artists will do their best effort for a chance at playing beta.
Considering maybe 70,000 Collector's Edition are made, versus 11 million players worldwide, I guess it is good the majority is able to get a sneak peek behind the scenes.
They are getting hammered pretty bad. It took me about three hours to access their website. I was getting blank pages unable to connect. Now that this post has been made, and once it spreads across Gaming Networks it will be nigh impossible to visit the interview page.
They will have to get a better server heh.
Blizzard Cinematic team is focusing their time in creating the trailers for Starcraft II and Diablo III. Starcraft and Warcraft 3 had cinematics in between campaigns or at the beginning or end of the campaigns.
With Starcraft II now a trilogy, it is gonna keep them quite busy. It would be better suited to have a company such as Pixar or Legendary Pictures do the animation work since they got the budget and the CGI computer farms to do it.
Awesome interview. There are three pre-rendered animation footage showing you how the models and animation look like without textures. Hopefully it inspires college 3D/Animation artists and aficionados.
This is correct. Blizzard uses many sources for naming NPCs and locations such as Lovecraft, Dragonlance, Dragonrealms, Forgotten Realms, D&D, Norse and Greek Mythology, and other sources.
The Wizard has some Assassin elements to do melee damage as well. An example is her Spectral Blade:

It could work. The former Paladins of Zakarum drew holy light from the High Heavens. However, with Tyrael gone rogue or corrupted this new class of dark paladins or death knights could draw their powers from holy and demonic sources through Tyrael or from another source.
The Diablo: The Sin War trilogy books revealed that humanity is descended from the Nephalem (progeny of rogue angels and demons who united to create the world of Sanctuary from scratch).

One thing to note. We were at both, the Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals in Paris, and at Blizzcon 2008. We even had lunch with Jay Wilson at the Blizzard Entertainment headquarter's cafeteria.
One thing that is certain is that none of the previous classes from Diablo I and Diablo II will return as a playable class in Diablo III, except for the Barbarian class. This Barbarian is the same one that we played in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction (20 years older).
The trend...
The GCDC (Game Developers Conference) 2009 hasn't been announced yet. Last year, it was celebrated through June 23-24.
Can't wait to get issue # 1 on my hands. I have wanted a Starcraft comic book title for ages. Specially if it's gonna expand upon the Starcraft II storyline, and reveal more about the Xel'Naga and the hybrids.
