Wow, that's a lot. As somebody who isn't into racing games, is this many cars the norm for the top tier racing games?

Out of all the exclusives for both the Xbox One and PS4 at launch, I think the single game with the best chance to be really great is Forza 5. Even as somebody who isn't a racing game fan, I've seen how consistently good the Forza games have been. For the sake of the fans, I hope they aren't disappointed.

I was expecting the actual 10 best games, not a list of SEGA franchises. Regardless, while I don't know where it would place on a list of best SEGA games, Vanquish is a hidden gem. It's not one of the best shooters this generation, but it's in that next tier of really good ones. It's challenging, frantic and visually cool. I'd put it in the same category as Binary Domain, Rage and Red Faction: Guerrilla - very cool, very competent shooters that lack that certain something ...

There is zero percent chance this is right.

What is the point of writing an article on Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's arrogance? If it was a spotlight on one company, then I'd at least give it a chance. However, this is quite clearly just for hits. Even if it was incredibly written, the only goal of this series is for clicks and I find it annoying.

This is true to an extent. Let's say you buy the $800 PC. It would take a PS4 user who pays the $50 a year for PS+ and $400 less for the console 4 years if they only purchase 5 new games, day 1. Now, by that point unless you took perfect care of your PC you're going to have to upgrade something. Maybe it's only a $75 expense, but it's something that you will have to do do continue to play games reasonably.

So, not factoring in sales/PS+ free games, an "ec...

I would say yes, even though I'm not much into multiplayer, except that so many games have an online community that only lasts 6 months before it starts to become barren - if it ever had a thriving community. Plus, servers aren't on forever. It's disappointing to pick up a game you missed a few years back only to find it nigh on impossible, or in fact impossible, to get the platinum trophy.

Without anonymous sources there are a lot of stories that wouldn't get reported. This isn't just in gaming, but journalism in general. At the end of the day, it's up to the individual whether or not they trust the person citing anonymous sources and if it turns out to be lies, such as the case with Rich, then said person deserves to be mocked and never taken serious again. If it's somebody working for an actual company, like IGN or Destructoid, that person needs to be fired. ...

Well, it seems when people talk about the PS4's "bad launch lineup." Because otherwise, all of the indie games/downloadable games AND free to play games would at worst make it a good launch lineup. Of course there is 3rd party stuff, but again it appears that only LAUNCH, RETAIL, EXCLUSIVE games count when they want to downplay the launch lineup.

Launch lineups are almost always terrible in comparison to a normal year in a console's life. Besides, I don't want to feel compelled to spend $400 on a console plus have 6-7 retail games I feel like I must have. Space them out, give me something to play every month and I'll be happy. Plus I have downloadable games AND PS3 games to keep me going for a while.

Here's one way to look at it. It's not only that there will be a difference in visuals, because a lot of people won't notice it (or at least a big difference). However, it portends the definite possibility for games to have lower FPS and other technical shortcomings. While a lot of people have turned this into a graphics debate, it's a lot more generalized.

You may not really care if a one version of a game is 720p and another is 1080p because you have a 720p ...

A minor bug in an unfinished game, what's the big deal?

No.

Man, somebody is being defensive.

I'll say this, Microsoft doesn't consider sold copies of Windows OSes tied to the Xbox division in the slightest. If the Xbox One doesn't sell well the Xbox division WILL be cut. I don't want that, because even those Microsoft tried some crappy stuff with the XB1 we need competition in the industry and Nintendo (for good or bad) doesn't compete with Sony or Microsoft.

Nice to hear, but I would hope there was never any doubt that Netflix would be ready at launch. I must say though, I don't suspect I'll be trying it out for a while :D

Honestly, I think your reasoning and situation perfectly validates your choice. Not that you NEED it validated by strangers on an internet forum, but there are legitimate reasons to buy an Xbox One over PS4.

Here's the key difference:

The Xbox 360 and PS3 have relative power parity. One has a better CPU, the other a better GPU. But overall the raw horsepower is pretty similar. Factor in the Cell, and while it does make the PS3 overall a little more powerful it is also really hard to develop for. Even after learning how, there isn't a huge inherent difference in power.

Then compare the Xbox One and the PS4:

The Xbox One is significantly le...

@Elit3Nick The Xbox One isn't using better textures, Infinity Ward just simply increased the sharpness. Well, that's what it looks like to me at least. Based off of everything I've read about game design the game with the lower resolution isn't going to have better textures - that's backwards.

The Xbox One's version has it's sharpness and contrast tuned higher with weaker overall visual effects. There isn't a huge difference for people who aren...

I think it's more an issue of all the flaws of the Xbox One combined when compared to the PS4 rather than any one issue. To me there are two factors that tip the scale when it comes to the majority of non-enthusiast gamers: Which system has the best multiplatform games and which system has the best online ecosystem. It's pretty clear that Sony wins one the former, it's the latter that is the Xbox One's last chance to stay competitive with the PS4 for this generation.
