The Wii U is an awesome system!!! Tons of fun, great games, and nice features. Totally worth a serious look if you like games or Nintendo. Sure you can bash it. Sure it's not a Xbone/PS4. That's actually a plus believe it or not. I don't think people want 3 systems that all do pretty much the exact thing. The biggest thing they failed to do was get rid of the awful awful Wii name. Have fun peeps. Games are FUN!

I'm willing to bet almost identical sales as last gen. I seriously tossed a coin. The PS4 price probably did garner a few extra buys though. Hard to (sanely) argue $100.
I have a hunch either MS or Sony will get squeezed out sometime this gen from the Steam box, Nintendo isn't safe by any means either, they just do their own thing. Looks like an awesome way to spend $60 to me! Funny, I played COD for the last 5 years off and on. To say it got stale is an understatement. They took something awesome and ruined it. It's just a money grab now (in my opinion). I've actually gotten interested in GAMES again with the Wii U, sadly, I can't play them all. But this one I will!
I just picked up a Wii U! It's pretty sweet if you ask me. I was all set to pick up a PS4 or Xbone but I decided to save some moola, still get a new system, and wait for this time next year before I get a "next gen" system. I don't see a reason to get either just yet. And I don't care if I play a game months after its out on the cheap. And, you early adopters can help me figure out which is better with actual no S*#t experience.
I wouldn't worry man, It looks like you can't go wrong with either system again. The whole PS3/360 wars were lame, these will be just as lame too. Both companies have the ability to provide a similar product if the other one shows success(like Achievement/Trophies)They practically R&D for each other. If anything, they're closer together than they have ever been.

The only thing that you can't deny helps the PS4 is it being $100 cheaper. I think the PS3 had way "more" on the 360 than the PS4 has on the Xbone, but it was way more expensive. I really think the price is what Sony learned their lesson on the most. I didn't buy a PS3 when it first came out because of it.
This is the first gen that feels like they just made a slightly better version of the previous gen. Both systems will be great because the previous two were great, and from what I can tell there's not much new to these systems, they almost feel like a mid-gen refresh. I was just hoping for something new(ish).
MS and Sony both made some odd design choices. The only nice thing is they both will melt away in my tv stand.
I was blown away by the Halo CE, and the following two were good but nowhere near the same(to me). I didn't pick up ODST so i can't judge, but it looked like more of the same. I don't think I'll be getting Reach either. I get why it has a huge fan base I do, but i think it's just getting to the point that developers are just adding too little to the next "sequel", and not making the strides i hope and know they can achieve if they wanted. Damn that game was a treat. If the took it to Gotham that would make for a great sequel. They need to make more comic hero games of that caliber, or rather games period of that caliber.
