All exclusive games are somewhow system sellers as they add quality and unique titles to the game library of a console.
I know people that got a PS3 when Everybody's Golf (Hot Shots) came out, that game has a hardcore following in Europe kust like Singstar or Buzz...I know people that got a PS3 as soon as MLB The Show 09 was out...other recently due to Demon's Souls...mostly in any genre PS3 has a AAA game that you can only find there and in many cases the best one in that genr...
I don't think they didn't drop any chip, I think it was never intended to be used for the retail version but rather just for a tech demo to generate hype.
Between Januari-Februari VGCHartz stealthy removed 1M units from the PS3 sales after x-mas (stealthy), a month after PS3 had the same sales figures they had back after x-mas...under the meantime X360 kept registering new sales.
I had always read about VGChartz manipulating sales figures but anyway I thought they were kind of reliable but after seeing how they removed 1M just like that I believe what people says about that site.
@darthv72
they haven't played MGS4, that easy
Great scores will always matter, it gives more sales...there's a limit in how much SONY can keep supporting new ideas.
They matter so games can sell well and gamers can keep getting awesome games rather than GH XXIV or COD 16
Demon's Souls for instance, got great scores but without Gamespot's GOTY 2009 it was destined to be forgotten as part of 2009's great games. The last Gamespot's GOTY are the only ones that have made sense... Super Mario Galaxy, MGS4 and DS. ...
Not really sure why I would like this one on the PS3, there's no gaps in the PS3 library to be filled by this game...I have a X360 and I'm not getting the game anyway, I prefer MGS...this is just another Splinter Cell game, it won't get a single perfect 10, it will neither sell 5 million copies...
From whatever fanboy perspective you see it, the game won't be nothing to brag about. Stick to Mass Effect 2 if you want to make news about specualtions of potential X360 exclusives c...
To all people (should I say kids?) wanting to kill RICO, please play Killzone 1...and please don't post that in Guerrilla Forums because that would only make GG sad...including Colonel Templar
If Rico hadn't done what he did by the end of K2 I would had been really dissappointed...many of the people that have only played K2 didn't really get it, Rico never had any other plans in mind than to do that he did as soon as he learned what had happened.
My wish list wou...
20 minutes takes on the X360, on the PS3 are 5 minutes as you install only certain key data, on the X360 I think you copy the whole thing.
...and the problem is? or is it good news?
They make it sound as if you had to install the game on a Wii or a X360 to be able to play it on the PS3 LOL.
the only people that don't care about the install are PS3 owners
Yeah right....treating gamers like kids. They will achieve in 1 month what they couldn't in 3 years?
Only dev that can say that is PD because it's true....Ubisoft and FR said the same about Haze not saying that the Splinter Cell will be bad because it won't but clearly they are not confident about their product.
they should stop showing those TV-shop like trailers with happy and pretty people playing...just missing "before" and "after"...
Seriously, it shows MSFT is from the US, that kind of ads don't work internationally, they are clearly targeting the US market where they are doing good and leading over SONY.
They don't have the 1st party studios to support both casual and hardcore so they will probably go after casual due to that the money is there...
My guess is that before it was young developers making games for young audience. today VG has become a huge market where many companies in order to survive demand(ed) to the same (now "old") developers to develop games for the same target audience (young)...
many of those devs want to do a game they would like to play or more according to their age, just like they did before when they were younger but NOP, they are asked to make a a game about a guy with big muscles a...
And Erik Kubik is....?
Who's Erik Kubik if I may ask?
(further down) @mcnablejr - "none of which are customizable?"
That would make GT lose class...we have ModNation Racers for the funny stuff
"The Xbox 360 was designed for a long life, and I don't even know if we're at the midpoint yet"
Seriously? I look at the power brick and disc tray and I would say it's 8 years old.
Launch PAL PS3 does PS2 BC via SW just like ALL PS3 consoles emulates PS1 games. Later on PS2 BC was also removed here and consoles didn't get cheaper. Removing PS2 BC was rather a strategic decision by SONY.
In MSFT case that chip was probably one more of the unrealised dreams of Molyneux. NATAL at the end will be just an EyeToy, same limitations of a last gen introduced as next-gen, fast cash for MSFT thanks to all the impulsive buyers, they don't have the 1st party studios t...
1-They are using something Kojima said he thought about the PS3 back in 2004-2005 when he finally got the specifications of the machine and realised that game he wanted to make wasn't possible... he had heard even higher specification and rumors so he stared dreaming...maybe he can make that game on the PS4
But people can't forget that Kojima Productions took the PS3 HW and showed everybody of what it was capable of, they delivered the game that shut many mouths, as a 3rd party...
the problem with LAIR was that it was too early to make a 100% sixaxis game (if there was even a right time for that), BUT if you followed the instructions in the game's booklet it actually worked pretty well. They should have included and in game-tutorial showing how to hold the controller.
Today no one reads the instructions booklets anymore so most of the people was positioning the controller wrong, as if they were playing Mario Kart on the Wii.
I was half way...
Finally I have the time to play some Halo!
