I don't know about bias, but I do wonder how many of the reviews were based on playing the whole game. Very difficult game. I don't think I am going to be able to complete it in 3 days. I do feel safe in recommending it though, even on my small sample size I think it has offered some of the best challenges I have had gaming. I actually posted a blog on reviewing difficult games under time constraints, has to be tough deciding on releasing a review of a partial game or waiting until yo...
Excellent game indeed. But no way I can give it a 10 so far. The loading times are so annoying. I am addicted and I love it, but those loading times are giving me nightmares. Gameplay wise it deserves a 10 but those loading times are making it very hard to enjoy the challenge.
@DoomeDx: Dislike isn't a strong enough word haha. But yes.
@BootHammer: I sure hope so. Shame such a small technical issue is holding this wonderful game back.
Nice! Now if they can fix the loading times in the actual game I will be happy haha. Had nightmares about that damn black screen :D
My tip is to max out endurance. Nothing worse than going for that killing blow and finding out you are too tired :D
And those controls!! Man, that game spoiled me. So precise and so fun. Seems like they mixed together the best parts of every 2d game ever made to create the ultimate platformer.
It is really good so far. Frustrating but good. Kind of funny how different the encounters are after 20 tries. Was really struggling the first hour, didn't realize you could lock on to enemies haha. I was so mad at the gun :D.
Definitely the best game I have played this year. So good.
yeah my only real complaint so far, so tired of that stupid black screen.
It is kind of odd to announce it so early. Nothing says sales like "Hey, buy our console that we are replacing soon". But yeah, I am still getting one when Zelda comes out!
Pretty good article. I like that From included a mini manual on how to keep your sanity haha. Definitely agree about the save system, that is one spot that could be refined to make the game more fun. It isn't so much about it being too hard, but sometimes life calls and I have to do other things in a hurry. But that gripe aside I am loving it.
Very true. Thinking I might start over. Although Lone Survivor is mostly setup how I would want it.
Different kinds of hard. Ori has very precise controls and super fast gameplay. You can die 20 times in Ori in the span of 1 minute depending on where you last saved. Bloodborne is more about strategy. You mostly die in Bloodborne because you haven't figured out the enemies weaknesses, not because of precision control.
Oversoul, Patience and Time and Hunger for me!
I don't mind dying in games. I think I died 600 times in Ori. As long as the challenge is fun, bring on the dying.
Haha, just what we needed... More difficulty. Hopefully they will patch these quickly.
Microsoft is Xbox and PC. At least when it comes to DirectX based games.
I should have done the pre-download haha. Was waiting for reviews, but I should have known it would be awesome. The speeds right now are sooo slow! 6% done, cannot wait.
Not really a matter of better or worse, just shedding light on the truth of the situation.
Plus Kinect Sports is the best selling Rare IP of all time, so they have had success, just not the kind of critical success they had with Banjo, etc.
According to the article it was because the founders left.
Which makes sense. They were the force that drove the ideas.
It is the reason I would like to see Microsoft let other studios tackle the Rare IP's. I don't think Rare needs to make the next Conker, PD0 or Banjo. The IP's are more important than the studio at this point.
I know what I did wrong, I don't need to think about. I just need to get back in there and get it right.
