Very reasonable price.
Yep, as a long time Fable fan I had no interest in Fable Legends. And to be honest none of the fable games except the first two were very good. And Phil hinted that all the talent that made the first two games is long gone.
I have never put a disc in either my PS4 or my Xbox One. Not a single time. I don't even know if they work haha. Also have a custom Gaming PC which does not even have a disc drive.
There is still competition. Games are still battling each other. Network services are still battling each other. Peripherals are still battling each other. It is just expanding the competition.
They all lose money on Console sales, they make them up with services and software sales. If Super Mario was on all devices it would have made a lot more money. I mean obviously right. Same with Uncharted, it is a great series and would sell well on all platforms.
I agree with the author. Exclusives are such an archaic principle. Would love to see all Xbox, Nintendo and Sony games available on all platforms. Let the user decide how they want to play.
Kalimba was made by one individual if I remember correctly and also didn't sell at all. Tentacles was an interesting game made by the mobile team for mobile that also didn't sell. I liked Max a lot but since then they have had no success.
True, I suppose I am more upset that it took them so long to ask. Last game they really made was Max and that was a long time ago. They released that other platformer but it was just a 1 person project. If they had asked right after Max released I could understand, but to just start their next project now and not be sure as to what to do seems like a studio without direction.
I would say there is pressure to cut the fat. None of those studios were making money. Lionhead hasn't had a hit in over 6 years, Project Spark was a financial failure, PressPlay had to ask fans for ideas of what to make. Better to focus on big studios making good titles.
What has Lionhead done in the past 6 years that was decent?
Up to Microsoft. They could sell it off to another studio. Give it to another internal studio. Or just throw it away.
I will miss Fable, but honestly I have been missing it since Fable 3. As for Press Play, seems like an odd decision. Thought they were highly successful in mobile.
I think the Mobile Market will have the most success. Just a much bigger market that is more affordable to get into.
I built a Steam Machine with that same graphics card just to play with. Although I ended up using an i5 processor because the i3 was just not a good experience. It was about on par with the X1 and PS4 as far as games performance, maybe slightly better. However I found I had to buy more accessories to make it a good couch performance. A controller, wireless controller dongle, Wireless Keyboard with a touchpad which added another 90 or so dollars for decent parts. In the end the entire machine ...
Sweeney's points are only about UWP and to be fair to MS there is no way for an architecture like that to work unless it is controlled. The idea is you can release an APP on Xbox, PC, Tablet, Phone etc and it will run across all three. Obviously that means that they all are using the same platform.
But that doesn't mean developers can't do their own thing. Windows 10 doesn't force you to write UWP apps and it doesn't force you to use Windows Store, that i...
Depends on what you do with your PC. If you are doing 3d Rendering and 3d Game development there is probably a 99.9% chance you have a desktop. If you are a serious PC gamer, there is probably a 98% chance you have a desktop. If you are surfing the internet and writing Word documents there is a 99% chance you have a laptop.
It isn't about Console Sales, it is about Xbox Live subscribers and game/app/content sales.
You remember when Sony snuck DRM Rootkits on CD's and got a class action lawsuit? Probably the biggest DRM blunder of all time.
I think it will help Xbox most definitely. Options are king!
I am enjoying it but it does have a lot of bugs. Especially hate the annoying Cannot Enter Safe House while in combat even though a scan shows 0 threats.
