I don't think anyone is over-investing. Very little AAA content being made at this point, mostly tech demo stuff and hobbyist. Insomniac is the only big studio jumping in and they specifically said it was to get a head start for later down the road. I think we are two generations away from it being mainstream. That said, I love it even now and highly recommend it if you have the patience to deal with growing pains.
He isn't trash talking, he was shedding light on peer to peer game coding and how it works and the flaws that come with it. It isn't exactly news either. Been that way for a long time.
Kind of sucks that developers have to go so far out of their way because people are so desperate to cheat. Always been that way. You have to prioritize anti cheating over actual game performance, which is sad.
That mech game looks sick!
Good article. I haven't really had too many issues with Division. The biggest issue is the lack of content and them recycling daily challenges over and over.
Yep, a friend and I did this for that very reason. Also gives a good outlet to make more Phoenix Credits since they are shared across all characters.
I just want the Xbox UI on PC and a partnership with Valve to integrate Steam into it. Not the full Xbox One OS, but just the UX/UI shell running on top of Windows 10.
I think the extreme style didn't appeal to everyone. Hard game to market to the masses. I was one of those people who wasn't crazy about how it looked in the commercials and hated the marketing ploys at e3 etc, but once I started playing I realized just how good of a game it actually was.
I like the infusion system. But they need new content to grind to get the gear to infuse. It's not that the content they have is bad, I am just so tired of it.
Only game they have released Since Korra was Transformers which was also kind of meh. Much better than Korra but hardly great. But regardless in Game Development cylces 2 years is very much lately.
Very cool, thank you!
Legend of Korra and Star Fox.
What happens if we have the max in Phoenix Credits I wonder. Although there isn't really anything to buy with them at this stage. Maybe when the next update comes out.
It does feel a bit too familiar. Tough situation for The Coalition. Change too much everyone cries, change too little everyone cries.
I don't have any issues with the Polygon article, it was actually very informative. But it does worry me about Platinum Games who have lately been releasing some horrible titles.
It definitely feels that way. Daily Missions hardly even change anymore. Kind of a joke.
@Bathyj: you will be using your time powers, this isn't a cover shooter it is all about the time powers. The combat is extremely fun, if that is your worry, I wouldn't be worried.
I enjoyed it a lot. Not Remedy's best, but still a great experience.
I like the Incursion ok, but it isn't what I expected. Horde modes are always fun but I was kind of hoping for a Raid with more elaborate mechanics.
And the Challenge Mode Incursion is ridiculous. Has anyone beat it legit?
Can't wait to get home and try it.
