Any game can be a benchmark for any piece of hardware...
Just make the players models incredibly complex with a very high poly count, add some cloth animation, facial expression, muscle system, bleh bleh bleh, make a really good looking court... There are tons of things you can do in a tennis game to push a piece of hardware to it´s limits for what that matters...
Even then, that is not the point of the article anyways...

IMO it looks nice, runs smooth. Environments could have used more work in some cases. Still not the final product tho... (but close to final since we are near the release)

COD is a better game IMO. Though this will prolly be an OK game, I don´t feel like I would want to buy it.

I would definitely go for it if I had the $$. I hate being so tech driven :S I just love to have the latest... when I can.
It sure needs a helluva power source, and good cooling too, and a good case... and if you are going to go for 3 SLI better have the latest in processing and also a Physics card, 8 gigs of high performance RAM for what it matters... And why not an ubber sound blaster, a 32 inch monitor, so on and so on...

I grew up in the 80s. Though I was more of a Sega Fan. Master System / Genesis FTW :P. Yet I had more than one friend who were more onto the nintendo side, so I actually played through all the majin consoles of the 8 and 16 bit era :)...
Man did I enjoy battletoads, megaman, zelda and the maio series!
... and yes, it was probably the best of times for gaming.
That and the graphic adventure in the early 90s for PC

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the console version was intentionally slowed down due to control scheme. Being Mouse and keyboard able to handle a faster game than a joystick.
anyhow, I guess there is a mouse and keyboard for the PS3... Does the game have a speed up option?

I have to agree in some points. Every time a new gen comes across there is this tendency to make debut games an eye-candy showcase.
I haven´t played Drake, though. Looks amazing yet.

A game doesn´t need to innovate or be revolutionary or next gen or be running on a 400U$s piece of hardware to be great.
I also rebought a psp (had fat, sold it, now got a slim after almost a year of having sold the old one) when I heard this game was coming out...

I owned a PSP fat for an year or so and run homebrew and emulators that took advantage of the 333mhz clock speed and never had an issue...
It´s been said 300 times... yes... the original cpu clock is 333, not 222mhz.
sure, we will need spare or more powerfull batteries... but who cares? :D
Now I bought a Slim and I intennd to go the same way... :D
All I can see is different hue and contrast, with that in mind you could adjust any of both versions to match the other one with just a TV adjustment...
