This is network/server problem, nothing more.
Probably due to the PS3 selling well, hence more traffic on PSN.
Nothing a few more servers and increased bandwidth can sort out.

How could you reactivate the SPU thats been disabled for yeild purpses on all PS3 Cell chips.
Reason you can't is:
1. The 8th SPU is deffective. Making 7 SPU's working.
2. The other Cell chips that have all fully working SPU's(also have one disabled) Making 7 SPU's working.
3. Some PS3's would end up more powerfull than others, also devs would have to code games to allow for this.
Plain an simple it wouldn't work. Having one disabled ...
Your misinformed, the 8th SPU your refering to is turned off cos it has failed already. It's for yeild purposes nothing more, it's not idle. It allows for more Cell wafers to be useable in PS3 production, as only 7 working SPU's are needed.
So don't expect the 8th SPU to switched on in the future, it won't be.
BTW 6 SPU's are usable by Game developers, 1 SPU handles security and other OS related tasks.

Crapbox reads dual layer DVD9(6.8Gb) at x8 not x16. Also there is a plenty in switching layers. Crapbox reads single layer DVD at x12 not x16. Crapbox gets nowhere near your numbers you pulled out your arse.
