Anyone else trying to figure out why the article mentions the "forthcoming launch of the new Xbox One console" and not a word about the PS4?
Disregarding past record, me too, but taking account of Sonic's shaky past, I'd put my money on Mario.
I'll probably get both anyway.
Pretty big WTF. Why do these games still even have lives? It's an outdated concept that needs to be done away with. At least the Rayman devs understood this.
Yeah, that's a good point. I had a SNES and Genesis too and also have a Wii and PS3 in the current generation. Those systems are different enough from each other that I can justify owning both. The PS3 and 360 has a large overlap though, so it's harder to justify, and I think the overlap will become even bigger with the PS4 and Xbox One.
I also own a Wii U because the overlap between Wii U and other consoles is small, and no-one else makes games like Nintendo does....
I don't really get it when people suggest buying both. Even if you've got plenty of money, do you really have enough time to play games on both systems?
I've been tempted to buy a 360 before, but I have such a massive PS3 backlog that I'll never play through so in the end I didn't see the point in piling on a whole 'nother console on top.
I'm sure likewise that the PS4 will give me more than enough to do.
Personally, I wouldn't buy any current generation game if I know there's also a next-gen version in development, especially if they're being released simultaneously (or close).
It's not that AC defines next-gen, rather that I just don't want to play a game knowing that I'm not really getting the full experience that the game has to offer.
It's a pretty reasonable list. Assassin's Creed IV is actually my only PS4 launch game (aside from PS+ and F2P freebies), so I'm quite happy to see it at the top of the list.
The Witness is actually my most anticipated PS4 game, but it's not a launch day game unfortunately.
On the contrary. I played the Xbox One at Gamescom precisely BECAUSE I have no intention of buying one, therefore I know I won't otherwise have any opportunity to try it (Ryse: Son Of Rome Gladiator mode in case you're curious).
On the other hand, I'm already committed to the PS4 with my pre-order, so I know I will be able to play it as much as I want anyway once it's released, therefore less reason for me to play one beforehand (not that I didn't want to...
Another clone of the 1998 arcade game Puzz Loop. Is a little originality too much to ask?
I'll take your word on that. I still haven't quite finished Revelations yet, so AC3 is still sitting on my shelf waiting to be played. :)
I'm currently playing this on Vita and it's a fairly decent game as far as Vita exclusives go, but it's no match for the games in the main series, so I hope fans of the franchise won't set their expectations too high, and I hope it's priced accordingly.
I've preordered the PS4 Camera with my console so I can play this on day one. I love me some augmented reality mini games. :)
Also, notice how the flying robot thing goes *behind* the person on the left. Looks like the PS4 Camera has some decent depth sensing capabilities.
I would think 3D is a given since the PS4 camera itself is 3D.
The Witness is the biggest reason I want a PS4 right now.
Does this thing really let you play Vita games on the TV? That's what I'm hoping, but I'm not sure exactly how the touch controls will be implemented if this is the case.
@kalkano
Yeah, I personally wouldn't mind myself either. The reason I said it is simply because as you pointed out, everyone tends to say stuff like that.
Whilst that would be pretty cool in theory, can you imagine what the 3DS top screen 400 x 240 image would look like blown up on a typical large 1080 TV?
"The age of CD-ROMs allowed for better music and polygons sharp enough to cut glass, but the storage medium also introduced gamers to the horrors of loading."
I'm pretty sure the C64 games on cassette tapes introduced gamers to the horrors of loading many years before CD-ROM. Those were loading times that were measured in minutes rather than seconds, and were occasionally alleviated via the use of images, music and interactivity (mini-games such as the famous &...
I'm so excited for VR that I'll buy it day-one, but my only concern is how well it will work with my crappy vision. I don't even care about the 3D effect, which I can't see anyway; I just want to experience the feeling of being inside the game, really sitting in the car when playing DriveClub (and I'd buy DriveClub just to play in VR despite otherwise having little interest in racing sims!).
Hopefully, the lenses in these systems are adjustable enough to ...
Typical Microsoft FUD.
