I think a lot of console users are still overlooking 1080p, I have been heavy gaming since Ps2 Online days (Socom Series) and just switched to PC back in March. Had every console, from Ps2 to Ps4 and all the Xbox consoles. 360 is still the king of consoles for me.... But playing Witcher 3 at 144FPS with everything on Ultra on 1080p looking amazing. I would take 1080p -Ultra - With a high FPS over 4K and 30-60 FPS any day.Shit most games only have certain assets that are even textured in true ...
@Stanjara- More to due with support then sales, just like everything in the industry the devs decide what features they will harness and which ones they won't. RTX is a big feat that I feel a lot of people overlook as something simple for devs to implement. People talk about it like it's some background feature that has minimal effect on the overall game or development cycle. All those years of overpriced Nvidia GPU's paid for the RnD for RTX, its Nvidia's bread and butter now...
Amazes me sometimes too, lol but they are tech heads at heart so I am sure they love it.
@sampsonon How does it work on N4G, can you just be a walking hypocrite without realizing you are? Wow wish I could be that oblivious to some things in life. It's funny when the topic of discussion involves console's being put head to head, all the Sony loyalist around here bash the Xbox players for having inferior hardware (well pre Xbox X launch) and visuals in exclusives. Let people play what they want, see how you playing console doesn't affect me, its this crazy concept that ...
@Giblet_Head but people like us are liars, no way we could own more than a single platform and hold an un-bias opinion because we get to enjoy them all. No that's not possible we must all hail SONY!!.
@Father_Merrin I own a Ps4 look me up, add me (Mac4_2o) but I also realize one thing, on my gaming PC I am more geared towards playing experiences and genre's that you really can't find on either console or they just flat out don't have them period, like Arma, ...
Anubis... you sound like somebody that listens to Tool on a cassette tape, everybody cried about the same thing in a music industry, inside and out. Years later in the heart of the digital age, the industry is thriving more then ever. Yes the industry will have growing pains with the shift, but that's just part of the process called life.
Crawl out of your 90's dungeon, take off the Walkman, smell the air of 2019 and get over yourself. Love when your everyday gamer...
Ewwww what a weirdo, my entire second monitor is filled with icons, how do you function... Guess you talk to Cortana alot? lol
Im with Darth, just look at Titanfall sales, yes it is a different genre and probably one of the hardest to become a new IP in (FPS) but still. I bought the game Day 1, most of my friends had no idea it even came to PS4. I think to many people on gaming websites think there is this huge player base on console that follows every breaking news story and release, when most of the player base is are just pure casual gamer's who don't know anything until they see it in the store front on ...
I could care less about the colors or the overall contrast ratio blah blah blah pointless stats for people like me. I run a 1080p 144hz G-Sync TN panel still, if I cared I would pay the arm and the leg for a IPS or VA panel with the same specs to get all those pretty color's. Everybody is like Crts for FPS, what are you playing on now? Let me guess you bought into the 4k hype and paid $800+ for a 27" monitor Lol idiots, idiots everywhere. How did all those colors...
Let me guess its the cold war era still and the SSR still stands, fall off your Trojan Horse and come to 2019 bud. NOBODY CARES ABOUT PHYSICAL COPIES BESIDES SINGLE PLAYER PLEB LOVERS AND ALOT OF IDIOTS ON THIS WEBSITE... Remember when everybody said the digital era was going to kill music and kill profits for artist. I still see them driving around in a quarter of a million dollar luxury cars and tossing money out like grass clippings. But tell me more about how great a physical disc is, wtf...
Glad it hasn't been a day 1 for me, the franchise is great but I have never been a big fan. I know it has an almost cult-like following, and give respect where it is due. But I will probably just wait for a price drop, hopefully it's fixed by then.
@shauzy Intel and AMD both have been claiming that for over a decade almost, all to get you to buy the latest and greatest chip, but we keep getting smaller transistors and smaller CPU's that pack more of a punch all while consuming less power and producing less heat just about every 2-3 years like clockwork. Minus Intel's 9th gen, good luck keeping that thing cool enough to overclock with basic air coolers.
But when you say PC level performance that is very vague....
@ocelot07 Metro has RTX features, if you had those on, then the ground you stand on is highly questionable. Also again Tomb Raider another RTX based title. Starting to have a feeling that you have a 20's series Nvidia card. In that case, every point you just made is literally pointless.
Let's use Cyberpunk 2077 as an example of why your argument isn't valid. Remember the E3 trailer, that everybody is saying got downgraded come Gamescom. That trailer was running...
I watched Ninja live stream it yesterday and his mouth was just open in amazement at some of the visuals... Don't care for the guy that much, but it was definitely a good game to watch someone stream. Eventually had to turn it off, to many spoilers.
Umm AC Odyssey overall looks like ass, don't know why that was mentioned, on top of not being optimized worth a dam until way after post-launch in typical Ubi fashion. if you were to pick a single asset maybe, but the overall quality when it all comes together combined with motion looks like a hot pile a garbage a lot of the time. Gears is definitely a feat, no need to hate. I am a PC guy and even I am impressed by the visuals, especially considering the hardware needed to achieve those v...
I guess the entire world is greedy then with that logic, here let me explain it to you from the perspective, you seem to not get. Activision is a big publisher, hands in a lot of games, then Bungie signs with them and some feel like that is the reason for Bungie's downfall with that and past games people hold more resentment toward Acti. Due to the sheer fact, Activision is one of the main contributors to pushing the MT trend into the mainstream with COD and other such titles. Then you ha...
The phone is justified, the amount of tech that is crammed into such a tiny device it's mind-boggling to think about. My single iPhone 8 equals up to the entire computing power of NASA during the Apollo era. Don't get me wrong, tech as a whole has come a long way. But cell phones are notch above the rest, look at Intel and AMD for example, for the next revolutionary jump for both of them in the CPU world, they are both piggybacking off Samsung and Apple designs. My gaming rig and gami...
LOL as a fellow Ps4 owner it is baffling how many idiots I must run into on a daily basis online, do these people live under a rock, any smart speaker you stick in your home is recording audio constantly. Facebook also, people posting comments saying " I have never heard of a company recording my audio" You do realize Google knows your every move, from the kitchen to the bathroom, to the trip you took halfway around the world. But you are worried about audio, must be nice to view th...
Here comes the wave of market/business experts who somehow game all day. To smash this article to bits, and claim this is terrible for gaming. The market needs no DLC, no Microtransactions, no Sub Services right. A $60 all-inclusive game.. -__-
You can thank the people obsessed with 4k, guess they enjoy looking at textures on a brick wall -_-
So many more levels to 1080p, games haven't even scratched the surface. 4k Textures just take up to much overhead in the overall scheme of things, people always want too much.
Of course the technologically uninclined will hype up the next-gen consoles thinking 4k with 100+FPS will be the norm and will cry and bitch when it doesn'...
