Games as a service was always the plan, less work, less outlay more profits. Plus they now have DRM with always online. Gotcha in the end

Most Japanese media is digital as they see no need for physical. This will happen but not over night. The costs saved would mean more profit less hassle.
It's only a small step away surely you can see the cost savings on mass global distribution of physical media?

It can be interesting to speculate but I don't see the need or hunger for a ps5 before 2020.
Parts would be much cheaper and they will create ps4 games upgraded as launch titles like last of us 2, death stranding and maybe if 2020 horizon 2. This year is a wrap for software. 2019 last of us 2, death stranding and more. I'm happy till 2020 especially as we can't get 4k 60 on every single game right now on any console.

If investment and development were really in place as promised 4 years back you would be seeing some results by now. Announcements, art work, new Ips etc. There has been nothing substantial from MS in years

That's one thing that makes me laugh mattick didn't just appear from no where he was working with the 360 and ms for years. It's easy to blame him alone when the whole division was driving the same direction too.

With the games Sony has lined up and due, I can see it as a launch title for ps5 as it's now a system seller. Unless they are very smart and release it but it plays on ps5 with major enhancements. Same for death stranding.
While I'm sure that's true the xbox division is the least profitable section within MS. The shareholders have been asking for its closure or chang of direction for years now. You can't compare gaming to being on almost every pc in the world as an operating system.
