it was released in April and did mediocre sales wise considering the lack of RPG support this gen. Then again, it's a new concept that is primarily targetted to what you would think would be a western audience.

I'm not turning this into a fanboy arguement, I'm stating facts. The 360 has a lot going for it, but I think if you sat down and gave half a second considering specs, the answer is simple: PS3 is more powerful.

It's not a blind follower's statement, it's just the obvious truth. That said, Star Ocean 4 should be an incredible game. Don't go taking offense to every pro PS3 comment posted, okay?

And I never play it. Time to start pushing out the software Nintendo or you WILL lose the hardcore crowd. I hope I see some killer-apps next year in the form of new Marios that aren't based on gimmicks and a new Zelda that actually breaks away from formula for a change. I doubt it though. I will NOT be buying Animal Crossing or Wii Music. This fall is ALL Playstation brand for me ninty, nothing for you.

This will REALLY mess things up with the kids though. If I'm not mistaken, they're doing Deathly Hallows in TWO parts. What, Harry will now be like 21? Bad news for Potter fans.

I don't think it'll matter. We're not seeing this game for YEARS. However, just based on technological superiority, I really want to see Square sit down and truly develop a dedicated title for the PS3 and go MGS4 with it. I'm talking full Cell usage, complete blu-ray space utilization and full PSN support. Hopefully, MAYBE we'll get to see that with FFvsXIII.

A good response, but I'm fairly confident MS knows that the outlook hardware wise is starting to fall into shadow. However, software attach rate is very important, but I think the EA announcement earlier this month trumped the Microsoft followers playing the third party card for a while.

It's a tough squeeze. Hopefully the price cut makes August interesting. As it stands, this holiday season could be REALLY bad for MS judging by recent consumer trends towards the PS3 and the co...

Their console truly is starting to live up to the hype. Took too long though and the term "potentialstation" will exist forever in memory of the PS3 and its early blunders. Sony needed to rebound, and they have. Thing is, we're starting to climb towards the peak after slowly slugging it out in the valley. The PS3 is here to stay folks, lookout come LittleBigPlanet.

I doubt the majority of you who complain about a lack of RPGs have even given that game a chance.

That said, the "hardcore" RPG crowd has no excuse. Not with Disgaea coming on August 26.

And as for the competition getting showered with them, Blue Dragon flopped, Lost Odyssey was met with mixed reactions, Fable 2 and Infinite Undiscovery aren't out yet (speaking of waiting). It's becoming a random excuse of the anti-PS3 crowd to use.

Oh, ...

I will say this, I wouldn't be surprised with the price cut if MS outsells PS3 in NPD. As for global sales, this game could go a long way to delievering the first XBOX 360 victory in a long time.

I know Sony fans are celebrating now, but next month could be different. IF of course Sony wins in August, then THAT will be something big to cheer about!

But if they don't, atleast I have a back-up plan ;)

And then you match that revenue to Sony's PS3 related expenses....

Don't be fooled, that just means it's bringing in money. NET INCOME is what we should be looking for when it comes to making up for past losses.

If they make Uncharted 2 instead the first game I'm making on LBP is a new Jak game. A Jak and Daxter sackboy for my brother and I to play as, it would totally own!

By the way, FF: Dissidia FTW!!!!

Disgaea 3 = PS3 EXCLUSIVE = most hardest of hardcore SRPG out there.

Also, consider Valkyria Chronicles November (exclusive), Eternal Sonata November (exclusive content) and WKC in Japan prior to March 31, 2009 (exclusive). Bioshock, Fallout 3....bunch of hypocites.

EDIT: Ahhhh...a disagree to my first open zone post of the day! How surprising to have someone in the openzone disagree with proven logic. Fine, don't believe my post, just go check IGN's release sche...

BRING ON DISGAEA 3!!!!!

That's another good point. Though basing the entire buzz specifically on momentum might be generalizing it a bit too much. Can't disagree with it though.

Sony has a lot going for themselves right now. But let's wait until August NPD to REALLY make a judgment call against a better global 360 performance (Japans, Tales) and the full-effect price-cut.

If Sony wins August then it's official: 2008 is the year of Sony's comback and the first step towards console war d...

Is the false reporting done by VGChartz. According to them, it was supposed to be 360 = 300,000 PS3 = 200,000. Instead, look what happens.

Also consider PS3 shortages, the 360 price-cut and the effect of the media proclaiming the 360 the E3 winner (Gametrailers anyone?). This is big news and August will be particularly interesting.

1) Shortages confirmed

2) Sony is going to have a HUGE holiday season

3) MGS4 effect is still being felt into month number two. So, Adam Sessler of X-Play who said MGS4 wouldn't be a system-seller, what now hmmm?

July was another good month for Sony. If the PS3 pulls out a victory in August over the full-month price-cutted 360, including the XBOX's Too Human release, things could get nasty. This is a nice rebound for Sony from a global perspective ...
