I would love no glasses 3d but it isnt coming for your general tv viewing environment for a long long time. A handheld is a different matter.
The 3d tvs that don't use glasses have a lenticular screen and viewing angles are awful. I saw the chinese tcl at ces and it was bad off view, artifacts, blur, and seemingly very low res. The glasses do make the screen look darker but when calibrated the higher TV brightness compensates giving a natural picture.
As 4me2 said, all TV's available to market will be 3D capable very soon and as more people upgrade there will be a wealth of 3d stuff ready for the new owners.
Prices will come down for both the sets and the glasses and then you can enjoy the movies/games/tv as you would in the cinema.

I have stayed away from demon souls because people have said its impossibly hard and although back in the day I would have spent 6 weeks trying to jump across to a different platform on the last level on manic miner, dying and having to start the whole game again.
These days because in general games are more forgiving I like the, die and immediately respawn where you were/play on easy then go harder modes.
