I was thinking the same thing from a lot of time ago. Uncharted 3 look fantastic, detailed, gorgeus, same as Killzone 3. When the next-gen comes, will we really able to see the difference? "look, there are more polygons in the threes, cant you see it?"
That's a problem technology, and specially graphics have: When they are too great, the cant be "better". More effects and shit like that aren that impressive. So, when the top is reached, we wont be able...
And I'm pretty sure you are the only one who dont know that those videos were from PS3/360 version of the game. Meh, those powerful consoles making those textures on the tentacle arms coming from the skull boss thing...heeeellllooooooooo n64.

Sadly for us, It's kinda confirmed that it'll be only one. If you think about it, it's not so dumb, ot even PC could do that: The console need to send graphics to the tv, and process the information of the wiimotes there. Plus, it need to process and send graphics to the controller, and process what happens there separately. That alone, I suposse is far more demanding that 3d gaming.
Now, if you got 4 controllers.... it need to be really a beast of machine. Or may...

well, if you consider "interesting" than a console can do billions and billions of polygons, I'll only tell you: that's nothing new. But, if you dont find interesting a REALLY NEW controller, then you should buy a PC. It has billions and billions of polygons, almost every USB controller you would want, emulators so you can play almost every console game, and a perfect online.

Just look at this: The console is supossed to send 1080p signal to a tv. Now, the console has to actually process what happens in that screen, with the wii motes. But separately, it has to send video signal to the controller, recogniza what happens with that screen and controller, sync up all inputs, and so on. From my point of view, that's far more demanding that 3D processing. Now, if you want a console to send different information to 4 controllers, with screens, it must be an expensi...

PC users can connect just three monitors at a time, processing one game, from a single point of view.
