Honestly, I dont see many developers taking real advantages of the ps3/vita combo. What the WiiU has is the need for the developer to use both screens. Almost no developer will risk a game made for the PS3 saying "you need a Vita to play it!" And gamers who doesnt have a Vita probably will not be buying one to play that game.
Sure, technically ps3/vita can do it. But I dont see many developers using the full potential of that function. It's a risk to do it, sinc...
...but's still cheaper than a PS3 AND a Vita. And the way it goes, than buying the same game twice to do the cross plattform thing.

....explain me how the two screens would work on a single monitor, please. I can imagine: controlling neku with the move, and the other character with the arrows/stick, but splitting the screen to do it well would be really weird.

we discovered that a game looks "cooler" with cutscenes, instead of the great long texts that JRPG always had. Chrno Trigger has A LOT of text, but sadly, if something like that come these days, all the stupid people will argue "wait, do you want me to READ? Really? Forget it, I want a video NAO!!!".
And then, the content and story gets cuted to its minimun to do it.

Personally, I dont think mac are bad. They're pretty powerful, and run smooth. The OS is far better than windows and all. Games... well, they exist: maybe they're not as many as PC, but they're there.
