Oh, old school. It sounds cool, I'm bored of regenerative health.
mmm... it's a good list, for this gamers generation, maybe.
But my favorite anti heroe of all time is Conker from Conker's Bad Fur Day. Revenge? Hate? Vampires? Hell, he doesnt even need an ultimate goal for going in a kind of rage, killing bugs, teddys, a giant poo monster, put a vampire in a blender, cover aldeans in guano, put down the flames of hell with urine, betraying friends, mocking of every character he finds, he even manipulate the game's programmers...
It this rate, it'll easier to capcom to buy the zombie mode from COD games and sell it like a RE game. Oh, and mercenaires mode will have it's name changed to "horde mode", and will be sold like an "exciting full new" DLC.
Resident Evil 4 took a lot of risks. The point of view, a completely new manual aiming, using money to buy and upgrade weapons, an approach to action without being a full action game, a new kind of enemies, and yet, the main character was reused. Still one of the greatest RE games, still scary, still survivar horror.
That's what "take a risk with a franchise" means, not change the game completely to a new genre.
It this rate, it'll easier to...
Yes, yes, I agree: iPad is for gaming. Now, show me good games, and maybe I'll buy it.
It's for gaming, but replace consoles? nah. Maybe for indie developers. I'd buy one if all great indie games were there.
That every gamer is the same as them: And by "them" I mean "hardcore", and so, kiddy games should not exist, just hardcore and mature.
Does anyone here remember a GBA game called Lady Sia? That girl would be a good character, we only have male swordsmen. Also, Arle or Amitie, or even Satan from Puyo Pop series would be.... interesting, to say the least.
You pointed the exact problem with RE series. Revelations is pretty good, though.
It's not like there's no market. Is just that recent horror games (and specially RE games since 5) arent scary games.
A gameplay scene where you get into an airport and kill innocents in a game 13 years kids play is ok. A video where a bomb kills innocents and kids in a game 13 years kids play is ok. A short scene of rape between monsters in a terror game only grown up people play for the sake of nostalgia (I tried, 13 years old kids just said "poor graphics") is not ok.
Oh world, oh world... not like I care about the scene, but really?
Wonder if they tried to read the reviews to understand why
No, If you took your time to read the article (and it's obvious you didn't) it says:
"That's not to say that the Fox Engine itself is incompatible with the Wii U, though. Kojima was careful to couch his remarks by pointing out that his new game engine is flexible. "I don't want any misconceptions that [the Fox Engine] is specific to a certain hardware platform, because it's not," he said. "The way we envision it, it's more this plat...
And this definition of "mature" is what is fucking the game's world.
Good things always stays at japan... sigh.
I'll just asume you do that in every console.
Yeah, like Super Mario galaxy 2, and... and many other imaginary Nintendo games I'm thinking of. Nintendo is the only devil company that make direct sequels. Damn Nintendo.
Great list, of a non common theme. Personally, I love the Z button from the N64, and god, the eject button from the SNES. Always wondered why the N64 didnt have one. And you remembered me the pain on the palm of my hand I had while playing the first Mario Party.
Awesome.
About the A button from the GC... I know a lot of people who always press "b" instead of "a". It looks like red things got more attention than big green ones.
Oh yeah. That Layton 3 ending had me crying like a little child for a while.
Thank you graphic whores. You took us here. Enjoy!
I wish I'd be as doomed as Nintendo.
You sir, stole my words. Most FPS gamers cant remember the tension and excitement of being with low health, and then play smart'til the next health pack, like GoldenEye, Doom or Quake. They just crouch like little girls, and then the magic fairy of easygameland makes her job.
