@FragMnTagM; Why is that!?
That's your opinion and that's fine that you came to this conclusion off of pure speculation. Let me tell you something my friend, next generation systems will be powerful but nothing major in terms of graphics. I'm no PC player but I am aware that PC already pumps out higher resolution than 1080p while these consoles might, but won't ever be utilized unless the standard of 1080p gets significantly bumped up. That's just the facts! If MS and Sony are only 5-6 times more po...
This is ridiculous! SmartGlass is not the Wii U, nowhere near the same; its you getting your tablet or phone or whatever you have, and integrating a few menus and options to it or drawing up some plays on Madden! Cool casual stuff, nothing that will blow your socks away.
The Wii U's game-pad seems pretty straight forward and a legit addition to a new console, not a peripheral add-on. I really don't care for what Nintendo's doing with their strategy, but I really c...
*)Okay those who disagree with me, there was a huge leap in graphics and resolution with the PS3 to PS2, it wasn't that huge from XBOX to 360 but was pretty decent, as the original XBOX already had a nice hardware and a resolution of 720p! PS2 on the other hand had a max resolution of 480p.
*)The Wii U will at least be 20X stronger than its predecessor the Wii which is a massive leap for Nintendo IMHO.
*)If the new XBOX is only going to be 5-6X stronger, then there isn...
Dude, I seen that last night, or the night before now, and he clearly was caught up in the excitement of it! He said, "Reggie was introducing Nintendo's brand new console the Wii U!" Jimmy knows games for the most part, and was just rambling in excitement saying, "You don't need the System or you do, or you could just use the control; I don't know its just so wired and cool, etc...". People just need to stop because he did a fine job showing off the system, LMA...
It might be changed slightly but nonetheless not a massive leap from current consoles, especially if bundled with kinect. More polygons, and more textures like I thought.
Honestly, "hardcore" gamer, is someone that plays games as a primary hobby often for long periods of time, dedicated to mastering their games. I find it funny when people think that "hardcore" gamers have to play nothing but mature content! I play everything, I got a platinum trophy on Demon's Souls and about to on Dark Souls, and have nearly completed Kid Icarus Uprising to 100%. Both games are really challenging and gratifying, and I consider both to be "hardcor...
I really don't think he should have let his feeling get in the way of his point, but in most respects he is correct. Why get in the way of MS and Sony bidding on an exclusive, when MS doesn't even do that? They just bid for exclusive timed DLC to be on their console first. What really has always helped Nintendo is their first-party titles, which always shine on their systems. People will never be satisfied with what Nintendo does, but we do have to look at the facts; Sony did lose $ f...
Screw that noise Jack, give me an updated physics-based engine from Havok, or the good people at Valve, or even an updated, destruction-based engine of Frostbite 2! IMHO, those engines will shine next-gen...
Reasonable enough!
Wow, I read your comment after I posted mine and I must say, I thought of that same exact moment in Zelda while reading this. I also agree 100% with you on the whole hand holding thing. I love figuring things out on my own and feeling that sense of accomplishment after I figure it out, or beat a boss or level that took a lot of work and effort to do.
Games like Demon's/Dark Souls, are perfect examples of what Miyamoto is talking about. I love the fact that Dark Souls doesn't hold your hand at all and feels like your in control of the pace the entire time. It has a tutorial system via messages on the ground, telling you how to play; ex. (X/A: to input command, R1/RB: to strike), which is perfectly fine and acceptable. I enjoy some tutorials, but when it take 4-5 hours to get the point across, it becomes unacceptable. I find that mo...
I love the "idea" better than the actual system. I own a 3DS along with every console to date and feel that a second screen is essential in game-play in every way; problem is that Nintendo is focusing way to much on asymmetrical gaming. Keep it simple! With The Legend of Zelda:OOT3D, some of the coolest things implemented on the second were the fact that there wasn't a HUD in your field of view, it was on the second screen the entire time. Another was the map, it was directly on...
And this is why Demon's/Dark Souls is the best game this generation! No time wasted on holding your hand; just throw you into hell and figure out how to succeed on your own. I'm glad that Fromsoftware figured this out before Nintendo. Maybe they should hire them for pointers...
To assume that next-gen will be mind-blowing at an affordable cost is insane! Sure the PS4 and Xbox 8 or 720 will be powerful but that doesn't change the fact that they will cost an arm and a leg; not to mention that 1080p is the standard, and unless the new standard is something significantly higher (in terms of resolution), most games will look the same just with more polygons and textures. Same resolution only possibly this time we will get true native 1080p instead of upscaled. Lets a...
Sure, but unless you work for Microsoft or Sony we won't truly know that. In the latest buzz I read an article from epic developers that the PS4 or "Orbis" is only slightly more powerful than the existing PS3, this is according to a couple of developers with next-gen, "dev-kits". This is of course a rumor from so called developers from Ubisoft and Epic. Plus Epic already said that no current gen console or next gen consoles will be able to run the UE4 to its full exten...
If you look at Havok's engine, one of the most and widely used physics based engines in gaming to date, you would see that they have developed their new engine for all current platforms; and have publicly stated that they are creating, and licensing, their next engine and catering to the Wii U. This was announced so that 3rd party developers would have an easier time porting current and next gen games, and if need be creating games for the Wii U...
I agree, but if I were in Nintendo's shoes, I would try to keep every little bit of exclusivity I could on the console.
It's really hard to tell the differences but they are there nonetheless... Despite the Wii U version being off-screen it still manages to significantly edge out the PS3 version in terms of AA, I also noticed that they used different filters on the Wii U version. The PS3 was a direct feed and still looked blurry and had muddy textures, which there shouldn't be any of that by today's standard. I'm not sure if the PS3 version was terribly compressed or not so I'll wait to jud...
I was soooooo disappointed when I first seen The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, I was damn near in tears, as I was expecting the E3 demo they showcased showing off a mature Link fighting Gannon... After a few years I got over it, and gave it a shot; to my surprise, it really blew me away! The artistic direction Nintendo chose to go with was brilliant. I felt as if I was playing a cartoon 3D version of TLOZ: A Link to The Past. To this day, this game is the pinnacle icon of cel-shaded games,...
