Increase in production values, decrease in sales.
Good examples are MGS4, Killzone 2 and especially the Uncharted series, they are by far the best games this generation and their sales are tiny compared to less fun games like Call of Duty and GTA

The aiming, movement and response from guns has a very "arcade" style feeling that makes it too easy to hit a target and less immersive. As far as immersion goes, Killzone 2 with HUD turned off is the best I;ve played. The movement, aiming, recoil, shooting all feel very realistic and create a very immersive experience.

I believe it has the best shooting gameplay I've ever seen, the feel of the guns, the movement when aiming, and the cover system make it the most immersive FPS I've played (especially when you turn HUD off)
I do like COD's acrade-style shooting even though it's way too easy, but I LOVE killzone's shoting.

They will advance on all consoles now in this generation and continue advancing into the next. Once real life realistic graphics can be rendered it will probaly move into 3d, although I thinks that's starting already.

What does it for me is the feel of the guns. The shooting gameplay in Killzone 2 is way better than any other game. The feel while aiming and shooting makes it the most satisfying FPS ever.
The only bad things I can say is that guns are too weak and that you can't aim down the sight with the shotgun. Apart from that it is the greatest FPS ever.
Uncharted 2, I've been kinda getting back into Killzone 2, and even though I don't like it that much I'll probably play some TF2 matches with my friends

It really should have been. It was one of the main advantages the original Xbox had over the PS2, and is now an advantage the PS3 has over the 360.
It was probably so they could keep the cost down, but it really was a bad idea to hve it optional.
This needs to be done with all the great last gen series.
I would definitely buy a Ratchet and Clank collection, Jak and Daxter collection, SOCOM collection and Metal Gear Solid collection. Old games that were good deserve this kind of updating treatment, don't change the gameplay, just the graphics.
There is no reason why it can't besides developer effort. I'm not sure but I think the 360 can produce KZ2 quality graphics (although it has failed to do so) if developers put in the effort. But really so far, no 360 game looks as good as Drake's Fortune. Gears of War 2 and Resident Evil 5 come close, but still aren't as good.
Whether this is due to technical limitations of the Xbox or lack of developer effort I'm not too sure, but I think the 360 still has room to grow. Whether ...

The storytelling is much better than in any other game. The uncharted series has proven that the line between games and movies can be crossed, and that video game characters can have a realistic feel to them.
Uncharted is NOT lame, it's storytelling and level of character depth is what all games should strive to achieve. Drake's fortune was done beautifully and the sequel exceeded it, it has become my favourite series ever in gaming.
But I hate it when they treat HL2 as just an FPS game. I'd call it an action game overall, because the shooting just plain sucks, but everything else about it is what makes it so incredible.
I might do the same for the new Ratchet game also. The only singleplayer game I needed to buy right away was Uncharted 2 since the first game was unvelievable incredible and my personal favourite, and I ended up enjoying U2's mutliplayer anyway.
I like to get multiplayer games right away so I don't miss out on any action online.
The same applies to Uncharted 1. I know U2 has a lot more action, but U1 still feels very much like a movie.
COD isn't even in the same league as Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2. I think Killzone 2 will win best graphics and game of the year will be Uncharted 2. But, MW2 may be able to beat Uncharted 2 for GOTY, I'm guessing it won't due to Uncharted beating it at E3
I'll enjoy it for it's multiplayer. But, the campaign length, graphics, sub-hd resolution and arcade style gameplay make it second to Killzone 2. Also, the matchmaking system is so flawed on the PS3 that I might just stop playing the multiplayer.
The perfect game for me would have the graphics and gameplay of Killzone 2, the multiplayer system of MW2 and run on the dedicated servers of Resistance 2 so there is no lag. So can someone hurry up and make this game for me?!
