But the actual list was not so bad either. The only games that actually lived up to the hype were MGS4, Pokemon and Killzone 2
Everything from the movement of walking/running, the feel of aiming, the cover system, the feel when shooting the guns and how explosions rock the whole screen make it easily the most immersive FPS ever.
Take off HUD for extra awesome
This list is overflowing with FAIL
My top 5.
5. LittleBig Planet
4. MGS4
3. Killzone 2
2. Uncharted
1. Uncharted 2
Other good ones are Resistance 1 & 2, inFamous and the Ratchet and Clank games
Seriously I would like to know
And everyone stop saying "so basically"
Graphically a generation ahead of multiplatform and 360 titles.
The gameplay consisted of pressing Triangle and Circle in random combinations. Ther were some slight variations such as hold a button or wiggle a stick but it has to be the most repetitive game in existence.
It's also very stupid, the main character seems to strike a pose every chance she gets, and she produces butterflies from her skin when she jumps.
The level of immersion in Killzone 2 is unmatched (especially with HUD turned off)
The feeling of the movement, aiming, shooting and surroundings made it the best FPS I've ever played. The cover system was also very nice and should now be standard in all FPS games.
The way the guns react when shooting make it a much more skillful game than Call of Duty with its arcade style shooting; skill being something I respect.
Even if I didn't play games on my computer, no way would I get a mac.
I don't see why anyone would buy a mac, Overpriced hardware and limited functions make it obviously inferior to PC.
Things like production values and story are second nature to me.
A lot of people think that level design and pacing count are more important than the core gameplay, which I strongly disagree with.
Example: Drake's Fortune had only a few memorable moments, but until it's sequel came out, I couldn't put it down. The core gamelay was enough to make it my favourite game ever; the great graphics, animation, story and characters were just the icing on the cake.
Uncha...
MW2 had a rediculous story, and was only 4 hours long. The only memorable moments was the helicopters falling out of the sky, and that lasted 20 seconds.
Killzone was 3 times as long, had way more epic moments, had cool boss fights and the enemies are WAY cooler.
That's without saying how much better Killzones gameplay is
They weren't exactly HD now where they?
Who wouldn't want them in HD?
I just thought it was a crappy Uncharted with clunky controls and awkward movement.
Games like these focus on looking cool rather than being fun. I have to say I'm not a fan of buttonmashers.
I do like the look of this game
I heard sound from my speakers but there was nothing on my screen. I tried resetting and everything else and then after about 5 minutes realised the video cable had fallen out.
But I'll wait till next year to pick it up. Singleplayer games I can wait for when they go platinum, so I can get them cheap. I'll do this for Ratchet, Batman, Assassins Creed and maybe Demon's Souls too. I picked up inFAMOUS the other day for dirt cheap and am having a lot of fun with it.
This simple fact shows how untrustworthy metacritic is.
But I'll just get the PC versions :)
