People are looking at this the wrong way. This gen of consoles will still be sold for a long time after the new gen launches. Most titles will be cross gen. If the new consoles launch at $500 and it affects sales neither Sony nor MS will be too concerned since they can still sell software to this gen of console users. It's software that makes money.

All the people excusing the lack of games because devs are supposedly working on next gen titles I think you're wrong. Almost every title will be a cross gen title for the first 2 years of the new consoles. The install bases are far too large to ignore and the basic hardware is very similar and scalable across generations.
This guy is so lost in the woods it's hilarious. PS4 won this gen not just because of how many consoles it sold but because of how many games that allowed them to sell. You're never going to make money just focusing on a subscription service as very few third parties will agree to add their games to it.

It runs at dynamic 720p and they threw out all the textures. I'm not surprised.
