I'm sure they said the same thing about their phone division. No VR strategy. No impressive exclusives. And the rumors are their box is going to be lower powered than the PS5. Streaming is a joke.

With so many cross gen titles both early adopters and those that stick with their old consoles will both have an amazing time.
Consoles are cheap enough that a lot of people will buy one just to play a single amazing game. Then hopefully they get hooked and buy more. Amazing games are what makes a console successful.
Next gen will be microsoft's last gen. After that they will double down on the cloud and streaming devices.
It's already a well polished and groundbreaking experience. Instead of pressing a button to simulate an action you just do the action. Instead of peering into a world through the window of your TV you are surrounded by it.
Compare it to other handhelds not to consoles...

Obsidian are doing what Bioware and Bethesda wish they could still do. Making a character driven open world RPG with solid mechanics and a lively atmosphere.

If they haven't raised the price on current gen consoles due to tariffs they are unlikely to raise them on next gen consoles due to tariffs.
The key is to look with your head and not with your eyes. Keep your eyes focused in the middle of the screen at all times and VR is very comfortable.
You can't be behind if you never entered the race. Xbox and Nintendo are on the sidelines while Sony is becoming synonymous with console VR.
PS4 is already the biggest success Sony ever had. Why would they need to "evolve" to maintain that success? Just keep providing great games and great hardware and an affordable price.
Put down the pipe dreams. Next gen consoles will actually deliver huge performance gains not these ridiculous fairy tales.
I enjoyed Playing Detroit. I can't stand sport games. It was a brilliant move IMO.
Literally every aspect of it has been poorly planned and disappointing.
