All Sony needs to do is implement DLC in Home/PSN. And oh yeah, we still get to keep the Blu-Ray player for "back-up" discs. See? That wasn't painful.
As much as I agree with you that it is more a "home theatre news" instead of a gaming news. However, hardcore fanboys from both sides keep a close tab on this one, because how Blu-Ray fares can have a partial (keyword: partial) impact on the overall success of PS3.
Oops, double post. The system, not mine. I hate that when it happens...
Unfortunately, the article gives the WRONG impression. The only way for PSN to succeed, as I had posted on a related articles days before, is to be DIFFERENT, and not copy or topple MSN live. The trick is what makes being different very worthwhile and unique that other gamers cannot get from Live. An analogy would be like choosing either Taco Bell or McDonald's for a quick lunch.
Sony's already doing it. Plus the social, myspace-esque aspect of Home, PSN will be unstoppable. To all the Xbox Live fans out there: Don't worry, Sony's not going after you. Sony's going for the PC people!! Yeah, baby, yeah!!
Probably. But the most likely case as one commentator in that Kotaku article linked by assasyn pointed out, PS3 owners are more likely people with careers (22-35 age group) since they can afford the PS3, whereas 360 owner are more likely teenagers who work at retail stores or fast food chains.
Right. So you're saying you guys either: A) Can't stand losing after five deaths, B)short attention span and get bored easily, C) it's more fun dissing at Sony (the company, fans, console, etc) than actually playing your supposedly "superior console with more fun, superior games", or D) all of the above
Hey, I'm analyzing your own argument here in explaining why your fellow compadres spend less minutes with your 360, so don't bash me for it.
@cdzie,
Hey, they're what I call smart thieves. If someone steals a stack of HD-DVD movies, heck I myself don't want to be associated with dimwitted/dumb/moronic/out-of- touch/brain dead thieves.
@LordAnubis,
Wow, who would have thought that Hayter really sucked in live movie acting!! And oh yeah, that mid-90's haircut really gave me the chills!
EDIT: To anyone who disagreed, I'm not saying that Hayter sucks completely, it's just that he's better suited for voice acting. Kinda like that cliche: Singers don't make good actors, actors do not make good singers.
With the PS3 labeled by some as the "Porsche of Hi-Def home entertainment", no surprises here. Thanks for the ale, Maddens! (Burp)
Hey, care for some jager shots? ;-)
To be specific, MS had a "quick disconnect" strategy when it came to promoting HD-DVD. Right before the PS3 was launched, many supporters of HD-DVD and 360 felt confident that the Blu-Ray was just another of Sony's "dead before arrival" formats, a la Betamax and MiniDisc. Now with the tides turning against HD-DVD, MS simply hit that "quick disconnect" button and pretended as if they never really cared the whole time. They silently but quickly changed gears say...
@lyberator,
Even bubbles were to go to zero, in my opinion, that would still not bother some of them. There are (at the risk of unintentionally giving others "ideas", I refuse to specify) "ways" to actually go around that rule that it is being practiced as we speak, and I think many people know what I'm talking about. That, unfortunately, would be near-impossible to eliminate, as users might resort to some kind of "witch-hunt" which may victimize ...
Yup, they will. But it may not change them for the better of everyone is. All they would have to do is test the new system for a while, then change strategies. Basically they're still the same, annoying people, except different approach.
@XboxIsBad,
First and foremost, PS2 had the LARGEST game library during the last con-gen (console generation) war. Not every PS2 owner was rich enough to buy every great game available for that console. That also includes the PS1 library. The only reason you may disregard this is if you're such a shallow "graphics lover" like Syko that you totally disregard the actual gameplay that made the game itself memorable.
Also, if your logic that no one plays games w...
To everyone doubting Home, let me tell you this: This would be every PS3 owner's unique myspace, without the cheesy, over-the-top backgrounds. And yes, folks, you can also call it as Sony's 'Interactive Myspace'!
Kudos MK_Red for the article! I hope this article tells everyone else that you're not some hater posting negative 360 articles (especially after that "360 is Dead" that you posted) and/or pro-Sony propaganda.
The worst impression that a Sony hater can get from this article is that everything else shown in July '07 E3 by Sony were nothing more than staged, elaborate hoaxes (including KZ2...which, BTW, is a common argument by Sony haters). I'm no developer and/or pr...
That's good news!! I'm what you may also call a "Canon Fanboy" as I own a Rebet XT (upgrade in the near future), some lenses (50mm f/1.8, 18-35mm F/3.5-5.6 and 70-200mm F/4L). Take that, Nikon!
As much as I love Sony, but as a photographer, I have no interest in their SLR cameras. I'm not saying that their cameras suck, it's just that I have never been impressed by them and I have more trust on Canon in terms of reliability. In short, Sony is a "noob" in...
Hey PS3 guys!! Gamespot just posted 11 new MGS4 wallpapers. Perfect for your PS3!!

Hmmmm....movie avatars...all just recently joined. Hmmmmm...me thinks something funny here. So how long 'till someone with Borat avatar and name pop up. Let me guess? Um, 5 minutes.
@FirstKnight,
If you want realism, how about this: How the hell can a man hide in the dark with those "three green glowing things" (NOTE: For all the super-senstive 360 fanboys, I'm referring to the GREEN glow of the night vision goggles)and still not be seen by the enemy? It's apparent that this game has no clue in military tactics (it's called "light discipline"). Look, in real life, even the dumbest bad guy could see "three green lights" hidin...
