I wouldn't be all that shocked if this one made it's way to the PS3. I know what you're saying, Mart, but it's highly unlikely that a legitimate magazine woul do a write-up on it without there being some truth to it. Now, if the news about this going to the PS3 was found on some fan-site, well that's different.
Looks really nice. I'm not going to get into the whole they're-renedered-no-they're-n ot-you're-a-poopy-head thing. It looks good. Whether or not the gameplay is interesting enough, that's another question altogether.
Yep, it looks fantastic. I'm anticipating that it will be delayed though. Luckily I'll have Splinter Cell: Double Agent to tide me over.
I know it doesn't seem like that big of a blow to some of you. After all, it's not like the series is renowned for its online component. Nonetheless, it does prove that Sony's online ambitions may be a little too vague and ambiguous for developers to commit resources to. Let's hope this isn't the start of a trend.
Personally, I think MS launched the 360 so early that Sony just wasn't prepared for it. I think they saw the next-gen cycle being another year or two in the future. ...
Once again, Sony's plans for the PS3 are as clear as mud. They've got a little over two months to get all of this squared away. Talk about cutting it close.

This pretty risky, especially since they haven't actually started production. How this can go off without a hitch is beyond me. These next couple of months will certainly prove interesting.
I know it doesn't look all that pretty and it's not pushing the 360's hardware, but I'll get it all the same. As much as I wish they'd update their graphics engine, I love the gameplay in Tenchu, and the co-op looks pretty funtacular.

Thanks for enlightening me. I'm glad to hear they're working wireless controllers into the core pack. I'm also impressed that they're bundling plug-n-play with the wireless controllers. That was one thing I really faulted MS for with the 360.
Still, I'm not buying "free" online play until it's out there and being sustained. I'm sorry, but someone's going to have to pay for those servers, and it's not going to be the developers or Sony. That leaves the gamers.

I'm merely comparing what Sony promises with what they're delivering. I mean, Microsoft and Nintendo let their products speak for themselves. They don't overpromise, and they deliver consistently.

I'm not sure where you got the impression that I thought the PS3 couldn't do what the 360 can graphically speaking, because I never meant to suggest that. What I was saying was that they haven't showed me anything that the PS3 can do that the 360 can't. I've always felt that the two are fairly evenly matched in terms of graphics capabilities.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I don't think the game looks bad. Personally, I think it's got some pretty decent visuals, though I did find the hovering sword that Gh0st mentioned pretty funny (And, yes, I realize issues like this will be fixed before release, but you gotta wonder why the PR team would have let that one slip).

This is my most aniticipated game this quarter.
From a marketing standpoint, that's a nice bit. It's nice and fluffy. As for that commercial actually showcasing anything to substantiate its own claims about how "next-gen" the AI is going to be in Resistance, well that's another story. And when I look at Sony's track record for "campaign promises" versus actual results, you'll forgive my cynical skepticism.
