The thing is, most developers are going to be looking to maximize profits by pushing the maximum number of units possible. This means doing multi-platform releases, which means developing games with DVD9 in mind. They're looking to make money and developing a game that truly capitalizes on the capacity of BR just doesn't make a whole lot of business sense.

As for this "upgrade" system Sony's looking to go with, if I wanted to constantly upgrade my stuff to play the latest...

I really hope you're joking.

but that thing looks like it could double as an electric razor. Again, my comments have nothing to do with how well this thing will work or be integrated with the PS3, but from an aesthetics perspective, it's not all that comely.

I'm glad they're adding more Achievements. I was pretty let-down by the fact that Chapter 2 didn't come with any new ones. I'd still like a firm date for when they're looking to deploy this. September is just about over...

Anyone know if the demo is the same one they had in last month's OXM?

Looking at your first point, DJ, people actually just want some straight answers. We've had enough of equivocation and evasive question dodging. Really, Sony needs no help in making a bigger catastrophe of the utter car-crash that the PS3 campaign has been thus far.

In regards to your first argument, "more" does not mean better. It probably explains the gap between game libraries last generation, while also explaining the slew of forgettable entries into the PS2 canon...

that this was a pretty soft interview, considering all of the struggles Sony has faced with the PS3 since it was announced.

Oh, yeah, this is N4G, where opinions are fightin' words. Seriously, who cares if this guy doesn't like his FPS's on a PC. That doesn't invalidate his opinion. In fact, it reinforces it, since, you know, he's talking about an FPS that's on a CONSOLE. I'd honestly prefer his opinion over a PC-FPSer's for the simple fact that this guy would know what to look for in a console shooter.

DJ, maybe it's because they're holding the PS3 to the standards that Sony is constantly boasting about. You know, making them walk the walk, instead of just talking the talk. Sony's the one that has the most to prove this generation. Between their dominance in the last gen, their ludicrous pricepoint, and all of the promises they make, it's only right that gamers and gaming sites are critical of them.

It's not because people are "hating" on Sony, or bashing them. They're...

How talking to three gamers can be passed off as a representative canvasing of the overall impressions regarding Sony's showing at TGS is beyond me. I'm not saying they're wrong, but they make it sound like these three random people speak for the other several thousand people at the convention.

This, along with Project 8, certainly do not bode well for the Sony online network. Kind of a bummer, really.

Let's not forget that the PS3 is region-free. That's going to have an impact as well, putting strains on retailers to keep prices fairly close across regions. Oh, and Kaz himself has hinted at the possibility of games on the PS3 costing more than $59.99...

"People were understandably upset when companies decided next-generation meant charging everyone $10 more for their games — especially when the price was applied to last-generation ports like GUN and Tony Hawk’s American Was...

Whatever it takes to take the sting out of dropping over half a grand on a console that isn't nearly as leaps-and-bounds above the 360 as you so desperately want us (and yourself) to believe. Sorry, but it's gonna be a balanced fight this generation and we'll see installed userbase evenly spread between MS and Sony. Maybe not in Japan, but that's okay, because Nintendo's set to pummel the bejeezus out of Sony there with the Wii.

This one looks a lot better during gameplay than it does in screenshots.

This is looking pretty tops. Here's hoping for online co-op!

The game looks downright entertaining. I have to agree that it's pretty weak that colliding with and ramming other objects (i.e. trees, radar arrays) doesn't seem to come with any penalties. I mean, that guy just effing plowed into that thing during take-off and didn't seem any worse for wear. Hopefully they'll work on that. I'm also not a fan of the running animation for the guys. Looks comically out of place with the rest of the game's art design and visual appeal. Minor gripes aside, this ...

Way to take the wind out of Sony's sales, MS. That pic is effing priceless!

Sorry, but no console if "future proof". That's why they have life-cycles. By the time developers are really tapping the potential of these machines, we'll be in here arguing about how much better the Xbox1080 is than the PS4 (and vice versa).

Fighting flaming with more flaming is altogether pointless. I don't think anyone has suggested that this won't be a great game. I think they're more or less comparing the trailer from last year to this footage and commenting on the gaps between them.

but it looks pretty damned entertaining. Reminds me a lot of Ninja Gaiden's gameplay, which is a good thing.
