Halo 1 sold well on PC because it was a competent effort.
IF they don't do something stupid with Halo 3 like they did with Halo 2 (releasing it only for one operating system) it might do pretty well.
Yup, by at least $300 million in one year.
Out of all those, if I had to pick one. It'd be Gears 2, followed by Halo 3.
That's because its running on weak, console hardware.
Ya, but I don't see why they licensed the Cryengine 2 for their first commercial outing. Why would you spend money on such an expensive tech if you have no idea how the game will do and you're a noob dev team?
This game is such a joke...
Why license something as powerful as the Cryengine 2 when your game looks worse than what console developers were putting out in 2006?
@Elven6
Unless I'm much mistaken, Call of Duty 4 and World at War are on PC.
This franchise is heavily rooted in the PC community. Activision could conceivably be missing out on at least a third of its sales if they didn't release a PC one...
Personally, I think grabbing 2% of the entire browser base within two days is very speedy... But that's just me...
It's been on the consoles for two months...
Considering this is Crytek's first attempt to crack the multi-platform market, I wouldn't count them out yet.
People were expecting id Tech 4 to be more popular that UE3, and look where they are now...
Wow, an actual, real title?
I might actually watch this now... :)
Too bad the steam version doesn't work with the original retail package...
Gametrailers hardly reviewed the game at its best settings...
Shows how qualified you are to comment on their games, when in fact they had nothing to do with Far Cry 2.
Unless I'm mistaken, their three games have 89, 91, 84 on Metacritic. If that's "bad" by your standards, then let me know what godly developers you look up to...
WHY DOES THIS CRAP GET APPROVED!
THE AUTHOR EVEN JUST SIGNED UP SO THAT HE CAN POST THIS!
THERE ARE NO FACTS, THERE'S A MIS-LEADING TITLE, IT'S ALL stupid speculation. (Just because an ENGINE runs on another system doesn't mean it'll be able to pull off the same visuals as a game that was on another system - compare World at War on Wii to PC/360/PS3)
Funny, we don't see the same concern from console gamers when someone posts a news article that indicates a new PC game being posted on torrent sites...
@lord_of_balrogs
Disk limit doesnt matter on PCs, considering EVERYTHING is installed to the hard drive anyway. The game could be on 4 DVDs, and still have all of the same content and textures that the PS3 version does because it would all be installed in the end anyway
We have several projects underway which will incorporate the LIVE service, and we’re continuing to build new developer relationships here at GDC to bring the best in the industry to Games for Windows – LIVE.”
Hopefully they're making competent ports of Halo 3 and Gears 2.
