In a way I do agree with what you are saying, I just dont believe that things are that easy anymore in the industry. You cant just wait and see while your platform is being destroyed for an entire year. Further risk must be taken.
For the price of a Vita you can pick up a Nintendo Wii U or 3DS entertainment system with games, a PS3, or a 360. In a way the Vita in my eyes is stuck in a very nasty situation as far as competitive pricing is concerned.

I can not speak for western rpgs because I usually avoid them. But for jrpgs I am personally attracted to a great turn based battle system. Followed by an epic story, and good music. The games that comes to mind would be Xenoblade Chronicles, Skies of Arcadia Legends, and Final Fantasy 7

I personally would have easily place Nintendo Wii entertainment system exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles as number 1. Greatest and most epic jrpg that I have played in a decade.

With all of the financial Kaos that have punished some in the industry today, I believe that these corporations must find a form of balance with next generation console releases. Bleeding money on a next generation gaming platform out the gates of launch does not seem to be a viable option at this point. Especially right now, profit is key.

The Nintendo game pad comes out the box with standard functions that are nowhere to be found on any current platform or handheld device. If this current generation has taught me anything, I have learned to never write off the chances of a classic gaming experience making a return. May it be an HD remake, or a reboot all together. I would personally appreciate if Resident Evil 5 and 6 are ported to the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system. I have never been a fan of splitting up franchises across different console brands, but still purchase them when necessary. Kinda like the Bayonetta 2 incident. If Resi 5 and 6 are ported I would be able have a complete collection of Resident Evil titles all under the Nintendo umbrella.

Yea unfortunately there are ups and downs for different people depending on their wants and needs. If holding off benefits you then thats just what needs to happen. Nobody is forced to buy a console on day one, its just an exciting feeling to be one of the 1st, and that new console smell is pretty amazing.

This has nothing to do with me wanting or playing a Vita. I am pretty much here to basically give my opinion on why the Vita needs a price drop. Though you are right about games, they will arrive at too slow of a pace if at all if the install base does not significantly grow.
