The original text is "to explore the merit of developing a 'red button' which can be included"

To explore the merit is not the same as "include this now", actually the exploration can, and most likely will, come to the conclusion, that such a physical button is useless in view of the much easier to reach Off button already present.

Considering that the "red button" thing is point 17 of a 35 point document that for most part talks about a...

I am starting to get confused, too. Imho it was obvious that the article is about the game on the next XBOX, not about Gears of War on any other current gen system.

Though it seemed to have managed to get the ultra-fanboys of both systems from behind cover. It's funny to see some complete morons make an idiot of themselves by either claiming it a good idea for Epic to release it on the PS3, or blindly lashing out at imagined evil Sonyfanboy-jornalists.

Imho it would make perfect sense to release the next gears of war on the next xbox generation. The boost to unit sales alone, if it was to be a launch title, would be huge.

For more than 20 years the industry has screamed how piracy would be the doom of gaming and how they will fold next week because of it, yet the legal games market has grown, and grown, and grown again. The claim that every downloaded copy of a game is a lost sale is bogus. Once you cut out the zero cash version you will see people still not buying the crap games. As the makers of Sins of a solar Empire stated (a game with no DRM protection) GOOD GAMES SELL, BAD GAMES DON'T

And wh...

Only that there is no way to download PS3 games for trophies, as downloaded PS3 games can not be played, and this now more than 2 years into the market. There is no piracy on the PS3 so no need to drop trophies at all.

There is no codec for mkv files, as mkv is not an encode, but a container file format. Remuxing the video/audio files inside the mkv container into a compatible container format should take no time at all. But then, codecs and containers get mixed up all the time ... A H.264 encoded video will look EXACTLY the same regardless if its stuffed into a .mkv or an .avi container, the container format has zero influence on the encode.

Sure it would be nice if consoles would support the ...

No, but keep dreaming.

And at whoever said that subtitles could be made fast .. the whole thing is in japanese, the menus, the buttons, everything. We will get subtitles, true, but only on the included making of feature film that replaces the demo for the international release of FF:AC BD

More completely made up nonsense from HHG ? Who would have thunk it *shakes head in disgust*

There is NO patent on the soundtrack thing, stop reposting this nonsense all the time. There was a patent application, but that was not granted, therefor its missing a patent number.

The custom soundtrack feature that the PS3 firmware has right now works EXACTLY like the xbox360 version.

The only difference is that Microsoft forces ALL developers via the licensing ruleset to use and support the feature from start. The xbox1 had this feature added in the late lifecycl...

Funny how the Home-Haters keep screaming how totally worthless, useless, pointless, whateverless Home is, but whenever you load into home its full of people. Seems that enough people find it useful and worthy enough to log into it.

If you so severely hate Home, maybe you are just not the target audience for it then?

It is not free, it is not even cheap. Prosumer market = high price. It will just not be priced like professional equipment. But still much higher than the average movie pirate would care to pay, as they tend to like to pay nothing to begin with.

It's interesting for ambitioned video amateurs. The application won't be as expensive as professional equipment, as its targeted at "prosumers" aka consumers who want near pro results and are ready to pay more than normal consumers for it. Its a semi-pro market.

The basics seem to be a selfbooting YellowDog embedded linux on a flashmemory that has the encoder software preinstalled. You stick that into the USB of the PS3 and boot otheros. Your PC gui can then access the...

Thats funny, Apple went from 33% GROW to 8% GROW in a massive recession, whereas DELL and the other big PC makers are in the negative already. The only area where the PC companies still have a minimal growth is the Netbooks, a market that Apple does not want to join.

So have PC makers with the PC market hit the brick wall twice compared to Apple?

Only independent developers are eligible for the funding, not corporate goons like microids.

I think you are mistaken there, to "outsell" something by 100% means that you have to sell twice the amount of B compared to A, so you got 100% more of B sold in regards to A

At the same time you could say that A sold 50% of B

B outselling A 100% = A selling 50% of B

But it is wasted thought anyways.

Wow, all this BS based upon a registered trademark ... Should we praise "journalists" , erm, cut that , Should we praise "bloggers" for their creativity in making random stuff up, or should we ignore their soapboxes? I'll go with the latter

I don't think there is a fundamental difference between the number of abusive idiots on either XBLG or PSN, the thing that makes PSN seem less filled with retards blabbering their nonsense is the fact that mics are RARE on PSN, while every XBLG user has one.

Beside that i would like an option to simply mute ALL Voicecom on EVERY game with the option to allow certain users on a case by case order. The current way of having to manually mute every abusive idiot in KZ2 is not very h...
