You are missing the point, the issue is NOT giving rebates for bulk orders, but giving rebates for bulk orders IF the ordering party EXCLUDES your competition from the market and if you at the same time have a market dominating position. That is, and rightly so, forbidden by anti-competition laws.
Because the goal of such tactics is NOT to give customers better prices, but to kill the competition and then to dictate the prices as you see fit.
Indeed, it's not that i would expect a PS3slim just yet, but to claim its not because a default PR denial was given is dumb at least, and outright childish if the only reason they claim it is to drive a smear campaign, like that worthless idiot some posts above who annoys everyone with his mindless hateposts.
Intel should treat VERY lightly there, as being a company with a significant market domination such a move might kick of an enormous anti-competition fine, one that would dwarf the billion pounds fine they got lately.
