I'm very aware of development cycle and how it looks in dif stages.. this doesn't look very promissing at all... art direction, base models.. looks amateur-ish.
Nobody should weight on it because it "was" an exclusive... (I don't think it ever was .. as far as I can remember they said "PC and Next-Gens" first and then anounced for all like it is right now... people are still confusing this with Eight Days.)
I have many insights on the subject, but that would be offtopic and unpolite. Besides, gamers are supposed to judge by the games, there's no need to such technical discussion.
Erm, PSU didn't said it was PS3 exclusive, they said it's coming to PS3 and PC (which is truth.) and didn't mention 360.
People are also confusing this because the game has "DAYS" in the name like Eight Days, which is PS3 exclusive.
Regarding the DVD yada yada.. the fact is that in most of those games most of the textures and even objects are or procedurally generated or simply repeated .. you don't make a whole city with unique textures because it's bo...
Lets be fair, most japanese next-gen games ARE "snes/PS1" mechanics with "somewhat" pretty graphics... I'm not saying it is bad, the art is great and all.. but I don't see any japanese studio trying to do the things developers of Alone in the Dark, Heavy Rain, Splinter Cell Conviction or Star Wars Force Unleashed are trying to do for storytelling in games.
I would say the most advanced ones in japan (Not "underground".) are Capcom .. with Dead Risi...
Can you sound MORE like a Sony press report? .. no, you can't.
Quote for Awesomeness!
Dude, I wasn't talking about sony, I was talking about brand names.. Square-Enix/Mistwalker/Level 5 .. why do everything has to be about sony?
I dislike White Knight Story because the concept of the game "too" derived from occidental RPG's .. and the art direction is poor.
Lost Odyssey's problem is that Sakaguchi didn't built an solid image to the game from start, he got "the most talented people" he could .. Takehiko Inoue .. Christian Lorenz, etc .. and stitched it toguether .. I could say by it's individual parts alone Lost Odyssey is more than worth. But the final result is yet to be judged.
...
Sony crew make it sound like mistwalker is forcing them gunpoint to play this HORRIBLE game .. *roll eyes* .. grow up .. anyone with a cent of real taste for games is at very least curious about this one.
Oh wait, White Knight Story is the real good game right? I mean .. giant armor killing giant enimies .. so cool! And the gameplay is like, much better, because you can walk and kill and walk and kill and walk and kill .. and get giant! to walk and kill and walk and kill ..
N4G is becoming the "joke" of the internet gamer community due to posts like this.. ridiculous.
Read 2.2.
He's not biased .. he did many open critics towards microsoft already.
His point makes a whole lot of sence .. PS3 isn't doing very well either .. the percentage of diference between then is not that large.
Perhaps the issue is not "microsoft" or "sony" .. it's simply next-gen versus Wii .. japan is really walking and crapping about graphics and physics .. they want Wii.
Apple is so good with games.. they lost HALO to Microsoft. LOL
Ok, I'm scared.. this is the same engine as Resident Evil 5.. which is theorically multiplatform .. if it downgraded LP .. what is it going to do with RE5 that is much more demanding????
I'm on my 503° Xbox360 now, one was alive and tried to kill my family but most of the others only had RROD .. (Love how people increase the numbers exponencially in their hoaxes, like 10yo kids.)
Those are just new ways to do the SAME thing, not new.
I'm not bying the implied notion that the character will have 100% simulated walking like demonstrated in the video .. walking straight is one thing .. running / making curves / jumping and then walking again .. not something easily archived (if archived at all.)
Erm, he DID ff7 .. wrote/directed/etc etc etc .. it's not because Nomura is taking it over it means he didn't do it.
Chrono Trigger was not done by either kitase or matsuno .. it was a third team later split into the guys from Baten Kaitos and some other teams. But yes, Sakaguchi had a BIG role in the game, and so did the Enix team (akira toriyama and such.) ..
I have to wonder what is you guys taste for movies, considering Stardust, The Brave One and many other really good movies where out :3 .. but again .. they aren't ticket selling movies .. so you guys must be the ones who buy tickets for things like "MI:3" ..
Is only me or is he a better actor than Tom Cruise?
