O_o .. are you guys seriously posting a POSER image gallery, of rendered images .. as reference to the "awesome" power of Raytracing? .. seriously? ..
Raytracing is no revolution ... even in the CGI industry we frequently use scanline and even more abstracts forms of rendering alond with raytracing .. and games do use raytracing in some forms to execute some shaders efficiently .. it's all mixed up ..
If they offer it for free, it drains the game profitability .. so yes, IT IS A FAIR DEAL EITHER WAY...

There's HOURS of footage of the game, any technology of the kind I mention WOULD appear .. or else it's just a gimmick hidden in some place in the game.
Which is sad, it's not his fault since most technology created in the west never gets translated to japan and they have to strugle and all.
His team is pretty bad tho, can't they match things like Star Wars force unleashed destructible scenery and Euphoria? .. or Splinter Cell Conviction's Crowd A.I/Non-Scripted Warfare and all?

Except PS3 and 360 can run Crysis better than medium. You can't compare a console to a computer 1:1 as much as you can't compare consoles with different architectures 1:1 ..
In 360, the GPU is the leading unit .. the processor works much like a GPU does in PC... it's upsidedown .. with tiled renderings and EDrams ..
PS3 then we got the whole cell/RSX crazy romantic relationship..
And the memory issue isn't as drastic as it looks comparing number...

If you want visuals/art .. go watch a movie.. (MirrorMask/Matrix and The City of the Lost Children are my recomendations.) .. but this is TECHNOLOGY .. technologically speaking, Linger in Shadows is not as impressive as FR-041 by no means ..
Oh, kmon people, it's not really that impressive as a tech-demo .. It's basically a ripoff from FR-041.

An well done "realistical" cover would be just as good as the painted one .. but that one looks cheap and swetty.
