People are using save games from a website that trades game saves to unlock acheievements and boost their gamerscore in Xbox live without playing the games properly.
MS extracted their console identifiers (also opening the door to how they protect the xbox360 from being hacked) and made a list then inserted that list in to the dashboard update and it renders savegames by those console IDS unplayable ...and corrupt even though they are not.

I am against gamerscore boosting.. A gamerscore is not a true leveling of a players skills because i know plenty of guys with a gamer score of 3000 or less who would be happy to spend all night running up kill after kill on you in GRAW, R6V, SC, or Halo 2.
I think them eliminating the trading of gamesaves starts to erode the very good feeling alot of people have in the console community toward Microsoft. It is one of the few areas where mention of their name doe not immediatel...
yes we did.... But it is posted so all the xbox and ps fans can flame the Wii ... Even though the Wii is kicking their ass all over the place. Since i have all 3 in my house when we get to drinking with friends over we are always playing WiiSports... No matter the amount of sound, graphic realism you can never fully simulate the effects of a battlefield situation with a TV and a controller. Actually the term PWNED is PLAYER OWNED... It started in MMOs. When you would PVP and get your clock cleaned in a way that meant that person owned you and you should probibly log off and stay away from them.

SOE (not Sony the PS3 party of Sony) but Sony Online Entertainment... have a track record of screwing up MMOs. They totally ruined EQ, SWG and forced Sigil to release Vanguard early to recoup costs and will fix a game that was released 6 months to early as they go. Planetside, MXO same deal..ruined. EQ2 is still a decent game but could have been so much more...

Sony doesn't benefit from the sales of the PS3 console. They lose money. THIS IS NOT to start a flame war. It is just the nature of the console business. If I go and buy just a PS3 and no extra controllers or games or anything... I just costed Sony like $500 (estimated).
The same goes with Xbox360... But since I bought 3 extra controllers and 6 games on launch night MS turned a profit on me for buying the console.
