Arcanum is a great game.. Planescape simply cannot be touched... sorry to say but it trumps even the godly Fallouts in some areas and ANYONE who calls themself an RPG fgan should play it. If you just like Final Fantasy and Japanese RPGS you are missing alot but to each their own.

Dreamcast is a piece of genius machinery that got hit with alot of back media from Sony... I think that those might be more based on design choices in Gears Of War and not on what the Unreal Engine can do. Because Iremember past interations on the unreal engine spawning games with rapid movement across a open area.

The problem is that they have to have servers up and running using electricity, bandwidth, people to monitor and run them constantly... That really really eats into the profits on those $15 per month especially. Blizzard is making tond of money on WOW but not necessarily off just the MMO (even though I am sure they don't have to worry about their next 3 games they develop too much) They make money off the other stuff like the shirts, card game, patches, glasses... etc. etc. WOW is far beyo...

This is well worth $60 as HL2 is simply put one of the best games released for any computer or console.
Just helping you out. PORTAL was a student project and as such if you were expecting a full 10-20 hour game you are seriously expecting to much. Portal will be a cool demo of what the HL2 mod comunity is doing and maybe a stellar example of it.

Yeah well all 3 companies are compensating for early mistakes right now so they can have a more compelling arguement about why they are better. It happens. But I don't think the v1 360 premium is a mistake it works perfectly for me. I dont want a HDDVD and when they releease the bigger HDD I will probibly upgrade.

really... And when are you waking up... alot of those games are NOT coming out in 2007 and if they did they would be horrible. Part of getting good quality games is letting them marinate in the development cycle and get worked into a fine piece of gaming. Where is Ultima???? this is the birth of RPG games as we know them... First real RPG and many things RPGs are still using to this day, 20 years later. Say what you want... Pick whichever you want.. there needs to a HARDCORE RPG on here (FF would be ok if it MUST be picked but I don't think it is anywhere close to the be all, end all of RPGs.. Yes FFVII was a great game but not a shining example of all RPGS.)
Agree Valve and many many console games cut their rteeth and made the many millions it takes to be a strong contender on the PC gaming front. PC gaming will be there just as long as consoles will. Consoles get alot of press but trust me... PC's turn a very pretty penny for all these companies also.
Why 5 years??? The XBox live up front cost is $60 for one year then $50 a year thereafter. You can decide at anytime to not pay it. therefore your arguement to pay all 5 years up front as a cost to get out of the door is mute. At least be honest and figure 1 year rate because that is all you have to pay to start with for a year.
