Sorry, but if the market won't bear a console with DRM then DRM is not the future. This is not the fait accompli Microsoft PR want us to think it is.
They should've been talking up the "benefits" of their system from the very start. The fact they haven't is indicative that the only benefits to it are to Microsoft's bottom line. Major Nelson is full of it, as expected.
How the mighty have fallen.
Yeah, no. It's only on Xbox One and PC because Microsoft paid top dollar for it to be that way.
It would be nice if this were true - good games deserve to do well - but Chartz numbers are often wholesale inventions.
Would be nice for those of us who want them. FFXII more than deserves it.
This was obvious from the moment Nintendo signed on as publisher over Sega. People port begging should make peace with where it's landed - buy a Wii U if you're *that* keen to play it. It's not like there aren't going to be good games there (eventually). Or pick it up at the end of the console cycle, when the box is a lower price and you can also score the worthwhile exclusives cheaply as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Activision followed EA and stopped supporting the platform. Saddened, to be sure.
Good way to confuse the Kinect(s), too.
The argument they've made is lacking. I can see people believing this without irony or caveat, sure. But not by reasoning in the way this writer has,
You've lost the PR battle if this is how you try to justify your price point. Apple don't go justifying their exorbitant prices to consumers: their marketing and the strength of their brand makes it unnecessary, because people think (however wrongly) that the value is there *without being explicitly told*.
Biased sample, so not really generalisable. Significant in that enthusiasts are the early adopters you really need to win over at the start of a console's life cycle.
I can't see this working out in quite the way they hope.
Well, yeah. You conceive of scenarios and mechanics first and then slot it in wherever makes sense.
Capcom's been circling the drain for a while now. Lots of missteps and haemorrhaged talent.
Seems like things are lining up nicely for Sony. Wonder how Xbox One stock is doing? Been rumours about production problems for a while now.
Hope they have the new stuff as DLC. Otherwise, no sale.
No, VG247. It does not. Though this precise attitude is why Microsoft believes it get can away with violations of consumer rights.
Sucks for people not in those territories. Would be nice if launches could be truly global.
Sure been a lot of articles like this getting churned out. Guess "it's the future" and "you're just afraid of change!" is the line that Microsoft has told people to take.
