A story is not all that a movie is. Acting goes a long way for immersion in a film. ICO, Shadow of the Colossus (think about it), Earthbound, Eternal Darkness, and tons of other games have great stories, but the execution and sometimes the dialogue don't always reflect well on the storyline.
Like most JRPG's ever created.
Uhm, The Deer Hunter, Citizen Kane, Gone With the Wind, Indiana Jones, Vertigo, Casablanca, The Godfather, and Chinatown want to have a serious con...
Bubbles for a very intelligent and thought-out response.
I didn't even think about his return option. That only really works on used games at GameStop.
Props.
Not to mention that you can get a refund in any movie if you walk out before the damn credits.
And the fact that even if you saved the 50 bucks you spent for your family to go to the movie to buy a game, your family typically isn't partaking in the fun.
Those were really bad examples for games with good stories. But a story is not all that a movie is. Acting goes a long way for immersion in a film. ICO, Shadow of the Colossus (think about it), Earthbound, Eternal Darkness, and tons of other games have great stories, but the execution and sometimes the dialogue don't always reflect well on the storyline.

Uhm, The Deer Hunter, Citizen Kane, Gone With the Wind, The Silence of the Lamb...
People put way too much into previews and trailers these days.
It's not good for gaming.
Hype is typically bad. It blinds people to problems and disappoints other people to the point of fanboyism.
I agree. I really get very uncomfortable and insecure when I look at all the other people who share my hobby.
Some people are cool, don't get me wrong, but the rabid fanboy stereotype (which seems to be in full force across the internet) really has to go.
I tend to bubble up everyone I see who isn't incoherently ranting and misinformed or spitting misinformation.
I don't see the "hype" for this game, just the normal preview and trailer.
The only hype would be from people who liked Banjo 10 years ago and pay attention to internet news 10 years later.
I'm hoping it'll be good, but I'm not hyped or hoping RARE dies a horrible death, like some.
Have you played Viva Piñata?
Not even close to garbage.
Have you even played Kameo?
Solid rental. Not even close to garbage.
However, I do agree with your system and wish this was the RARE of my SNES/N64 heyday.
lol@ my own disagrees, too, now.
Achievements and Trophies can be implemented well, creatively and with a challenge.
That's not the problem. I like added replay value, etc..
The problem is how people view these things and how they think other people view their trophies/achievements (if anyone ever sees them).
What on earth for?
The only game I ever played that much was WoW.
Ah, it was just a little oddly worded.
I agree with you, though.
to -LETS-ALL-GET-IT-ON-:
I agree. I hate the fact that achievements are all people work for, and developers lazily implement achievements/trophies more than half the time.
When they are creative and challenging, they add replay value. I don't care if no one could see my gamerscore, the achievement issued a challenge to me and I want to see if I can beat it, regardless of whet...
Thank you for submitting.
I'm not nearly interested enough or wealthy enough to embark on this journey, but the benefits are fairly obvious in the face of new games and video card upgrades.
Just... Just, no.
There are far more complex audio and video files to save that take far more memory than FFXII's.
It's not a matter of simple addition.
SE will have to pay more to publish multiple discs. You might see it only releasing on two (kinda like the 360 version of RAGE), in which case it will be likely that the PS3 version looks better, in addition to not having to switch discs, though you may have to sit through a lengthy install when you fir...
English ftw.
If the only JRPG you like is Final Fantasy, you are an extreme fanboy.
either for 360 or for the FF series.
But you never played VII.
Did you even play any Tales games or Star Ocean games?
quiquitos looks like a duplicate account.
@kenshin22up: It's wrong because FF isn't the only JRPG in existence. And yes, if you only liked Mass Effect, I would brand you as a Mass Effect fanboy, because in that case you most likely only ever...
Word, Mao.
Word.
@NO_PUDding below:
Uhmm... well, no. But PS3 is getting its own version of Tales.
@KillaManiac: Hell, yes. I love Disgaea. So much.
Tales of Vesperia is cool, but Disgaea is far better.
That said, I'm looking forward to Star Ocean 4, Infinite Undiscovery, Little King's Story, and White Knight Story.
@AACE5: Actually, Blue Dragon didn't feel like saving money and wanted to look good...
Before the PS3 had the games it does now and the games it had on the horizon, the 360 was worth that purchase, even with RROD (granted, MS's customer service helped with the RROD problem, but nevertheless, the sh*t is still happening and very annoying).
Just because it was released a year earlier for the most part (which MS has now spent a billion dollars rectifying, due to RROD).
Money aside, the 360 now really blows for the money.
Most of the games are...
They just do not have an advantage anymore.
Anyone who knows the upcoming releases knows this is true.
MS has started showing their true colors in this industry and that color is GREEN.
They aren't here for the gamer, they're here for the dollar.
That's why they have 6 exclusives over the next 18 months and Sony has over quadruple (4x) that. Even Nintendo has three times that number.
til you want to play Geometry Wars, Braid, or... JRPG's.
to Mao below:
Truth. There's very little to look forward to on the 360, which sucks.
Good thing my friends and I still play Geometry Wars 2 every weekend since release. Don't think that'll last through the year, though.
It's really unfortunate, they need some exclusives to compete.
Anyone who has both knows what the deal is, like Mao here. PS3 is where you go in multi-...
You must be kidding? So many people are so confused as to what constitutes a flop. I guess if the new slang for disappointing games is flop, then okay.
I may prefer my PlayStation 3 this fall and next year, with my Wii close behind and my 360 at the back, but I still loves me some 360.
I used to prefer 360, but that was when the others were catching up and didn't have much to look forward to.
360 has: Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia (both other cons...
