Sony pays more to produce a PS3 than they sell it for, therefore they lose money every time they make one. Microsoft just started turning a profit and it's been like 2 and a half years.

"Flopping" means doing poorly in sales, not necessarily indicative of a bad game.
Flopping can't really be determined until we see sales numbers. From pre-orders alone from hyped-up gamers, I'd say it can't really flop, but we shall see.

There are a lot of good games in the bargain bin.
At gamestop for example, I got 4 games for under 30 bucks on 360/PS3. Gamecube games are getting more expensive, unfortunately, but:
I got Prey for $3 dollars. Cheaper than a rental. Wasn't a lot to play on 360 when it was released, so a lot of people bought it full-price. At least worth a rental, and I might as well own it for 3 dollars.
Rainbow Six: Vegas. 7 dollars, I think? Cost of a rental-ish....
It's an action-RPG.
It becomes third person shooterish in how it looks as a Commando, but not as any other class, except some with the Champion.
And you still shoot with the right stick... which is not TPS-ish.
However, I do love MDK.
I think you should say hello to more showing of quality from EA.

As far as GTA, the game is quality and you can't really doubt that.
They trimmed it down from what it was, though I, too, miss the taxi and ambulance missions, etc., and don't welcome the return of "generic" missions.

EA has made a big turnaround in their quality and expanded exponentially. I don't know if their customer service or attitudes towards their employees have changed, but their games are definitely headed in a much more positive direction.
All the big EA sports games will be really damn good with the addition of 2k. Winning Eleven still might have FIFA beat, but you can bet your ass that Madden '10 or '11 are gonna be amazing, as well ...

There were about a dozen really great games on Xbox.
About three dozen on PS2 or more.
