Agreed, not sure why everyone is crying about this they have given people the base game for free in this expansion (WoW pretty much does the same but that's ok it's Blizz after all), think of all the updates these people have had for free since GW2 launched. With this "charge" they might get some more players and funds to keep the free updates coming in the future, god I hate this entitled crap.
GW2 has had a few years of free updates this is the first paid expansion in years, not sure how that's shitty? Look at WoW you pay a sub and for expansions but that appears to be an ok parctice.
They generally are and do, only issue I have had with Steelseries is the steel series software, which will update to a version not compatible with your hardware, not an issue for console though.
Ouch that sucks for the people that wanted it, not a good move waiting until now to do it.
It does but I am still glad I have the consoles for those that don't make the jump so I can play them still.
You can ask that of any game, IMO this sort of game will depend on how you like to explore/discover more than anything, but I don't know obviously :)

Liked Nier but it did look like a PS2 games at times, looking forward to this.
Same as, I might do the same with no mans sky too as not sure there will be any benefit in waiting for the PC versions of this and NMS(unless they announce some great PC specific stuff, not likely).
