There are two reasons for owning both the Xbox One and the PS4.
1) So you can compare the two for yourself, rather than read to other's opinions online.
2) So you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

If you're assuming re-chargable AA batteries from Xbox are somehow magically not compatible with the AA Xbox One controller, then by all means you're correct.
Remember though, preference does play a 90% role in which controller you play better with. You wouldn't want to get the console with the controller that you don't like, cause you'll be using it all the time.

Yeah, I never understood the term 'true gamer'. What differentiates a gamer from a true gamer? Gamers are gamers. The only comparison between gamers is their taste, time and, skill.
With that said, you have your RPG gamers, FPS gamers and the all-round gamers for taste. For time playing you have the casual gamer and the whatever-gamer that plays a lot. For skill you have the bad, the average and the pro.
