wtf?

Yep. Great systems. It didn't bother me so much in the Gamecube days but now with such an emphasis on online play it's kind of painful that none of my friends have a Wii U.

They're more than happy to play mine when they come over but they're PS casuals (COD and R* games are all they play), so it's good that the Wii U has local play but crap that I can't play online with mates.

Please people, just stop accepting that you should be paying for online services. I never had a problem with PS+ when you had the option for the premium service or the unpaid one, but things are getting out of hand now.

Online gaming has been free on PC since the 90s and PC gamers have had dedicated servers for a long time. Please stop defending Sony and Microsoft bending you over.

To those who replied: my point was that the technologies exist to help mitigate such attacks or recover quickly when they do.

@mzupeman - yeah you're probably right. Live's downtime wasn't unacceptable. Sony do have a long way to go. More than 24 hours is ridiculous.

"In February of 2014 CloudFlare mitigated the largest ever recorded DDoS attack which peaked at 400 Gbit/s" - Wikipedia

It can be done. Your precious Sony and Microsoft are just to cheap to make it happen. Even though they charge for their online services.

Half Life and Metroid Prime are two of the most immersive experiences ever for this very reason.

Sony: No refunds! The rocks weren't defective!

Neither my comment or the article refer to a ddos attack, but it's nice that you agree with me about the server load issues. FYI ddos is not hacking.

I do remember though when PSN got hacked a little while back, the hackers said that they tried to hack Nintendo but got detected and booted out straight away and Nintendo instantly closed the loophole so they couldn't get back in. They were impressed. So I would say that Nintendo is at least less vulnerable than Sony to...

I doubt any hackers would have issues with Nintendo. They're pretty consumer friendly and apparently really hard to hack. Probably just server load issues, as others have said.

@silentnegotiator - it's more like blaming the cops for someone breaking into a police station.

It's better than anything on the PS4 anyway.

You know what's funny? I wrote basically the same message on the 'PSN is down' article and got almost nothing but disagrees. Lol, Sony fans....

That was some heavy reading.....

They didn't get the memo: Nintendo games aren't allowed to get GOTY these days.

Is that you Rich?

Get your act together MS. People pay for this service.

4044d ago 5 agree2 disagreeView comment

This is crap. Sony and Microsoft need to get their acts together. This is a paid service now so no excuses.

About damn time. If you're not going to delete my PSN account from your servers, at least have better security.

Just keep supporting your current console please.

I honestly don't care who I play as, as long as I get to do rad stuff.
